1. I thought one of the most interesting comments in his 60 minutes interview
last night was his comment re. Kissinger and that he is still fighting the Vietnam war. He said something to the effect that Kissinger who has been an advisor to Bush Co. on the Iraq War (God help us all) always believed that we lost the Vietnam War because we lost our resolve/will (something to that effect) and that is what he's trying to now make different with the Iraq War.

Boy, if that is true, we are so screwed....this whole thing is a suicide mission.

Meanwhile, back to what you said about Woodward...yes, he may very well have just helped us bring the war criminals atleast into the spot light as they should be....

I'm not going to hold my breath though until the stake is in the heart of the vampires....because they will still keep sucking America's life force as long as they can...

3. If we had followed Kissinger, the US would still be in SE Asia bleeding
The Vietnamese people have never long-endured foreign occupation without struggling against the occupier. They would still be resisting the US occupation to this day. They will fight 10, 20, 30, even 50 year wars just to evict the occupier of their lands.

8. Another interesting observation - Why he thought Cheney was bucking
Edited on Mon Oct-02-06 04:07 AM by djmaddox1
to keep Rummy on the farm ... if Rummy was fired because the war on Iraq/WOT was going badly, then that left Cheney next in line w/nobody to hide behind! (paraphrased, of course!)

I think the man called the vice-prez a coward tonight, in a sly way!

on edit:
I type out Buckshot's name so rarely I forget how to spell it properly ... think I'll stick w/Deadeye or some of his more 'descriptive' appellations from here on out!

9. Dick "Five Deferments" Cheney a coward?
I am sure that Rush "Anal Cyst" Limbaugh will come to his defense.

Since they both behaved so "courageously" in defense of their desire NOT to serve America in the Armed Forces when they were needed.

11. Many People
You may know this already, but their are many people who are still fighting the Vietnam War. Many of them do believe that the reason America lost the war is that they did not stay longer. The idea of staying the course has been one of the things that supporters of the Vietnam War have used to bash those who do not support the Iraq War. They Vietnam War supporters say if America had stayed just a little longer great things would have happened.

12. Another interesting "Vietnam War" and "Iraq War" connection:
Not just the people who are still fighting the Vietnam War all these years later and connecting it to the Iraq War, but how many of these people who actually NEVER FOUGHT in the Vietnam War (like George "AWOL" Bush or Dick "Five Deferment" Cheney etc.) are connected to this failed War and occupation of Iraq.

It's crazy...absolutely crazy....It's as if the ones who failed had to have a "do over" and all they have shown is why they failed the first time. And they just refuse to get it and will keep failing until they get it right. Which ofcourse, will never happen. We all see it, and they refuse to accept reality.

2. Better late than never
His last book about Bush was a complete butt smooch. Good to see he's returned from the dark side.

13. If that was Woodward's strategy, it was absolutely brilliant!
The only way to have gotten in the hen house was to have been a hen twice...then he got the goods and came out showing the truth....

Maybe that explains why the White House is scared....You can always tell how afraid they are by what they are sayiing on the Sunday talk shows. Dan Bartlett and Tony Snow tried to look very non-chalant about the matter, but you could see the sweat beads.

The White House really looked to being in a State of Denial...they were acting all surprised that Woodward could say any of these things....

So, their Sunday appearances just confirmed that they are ALL in a State of Denial.....

5. He got rid of chimpy's mentor, Tricky Dicky, too...
when the Thug Party's wealthy benefactors decided they wanted him out. Could it be that Woodward got this book assignment for the same reason? I hope?

6. Not a chance! Bush will be there turning out the lights January 2007
Get used to it...in ten days this story will be as old as Bush admitting he broke the law in NSA spying, Torture, lies about WMD's Downy Street memo, Richard Clarke's book, etc. etc. etc. The media will move on to sex and always other stories, this will be just another of a series of threads for the past six years saying "Bush is toast"

Not a chance!!
