What does it mean when a republican says - "I take full responsibility
for my actions? What exactly does that mean? foley said it again today. He takes full responsibility. Does that mean you'll plead guilty to all charges and wave a trial mark?

Would a free republic member or any other life form of bush enabler check in here and explain it to us what it means when a conservative says they take responsibility. I'm just a skeptical son of a bitch who has spent 50+ years years on this planet and have yet to see a "conservative" meaningfully take responsibility for anything.

4. Beat me to it.
Although the right wing sound machine is off it's game
because it took Brit Hume almost 48 hours to blame blame
Clinton for Foley.

2. Not a freeper here
but I can speak a little double-speak having been raised in Kane County, Illinois.

What Foley is trying to say is 'lay off already and stop talking about me. I will feign remorse so we don't lose voters next month and all my friends who have spent the last several years pimping for me will still send me boys next term'.

I take full responsibility for trying to make this the democrats fault or at least making it a bipartisan scandal.

And somehow it's Clinton's fault.

5. In GOP-speak, it means ...
"I've been caught. I am toast. It's me, me, me - no need to look at the people who enabled me to do what I did, protected me as I did it, and covered my ass the best they could before I got found out."

It's a pitiful, last-ditch effort to try and divert attention away from OTHERS who might be guilty as well.

And I DO MEAN pitiful ...

Actually it means "I want this to go away so I'm making this bullshit statement. There - that should be the end of it. No consequences, no punishment, By the way a blond chick just went missing. That's more important than this".

16. Exactly!!!!!! That's the way they play it! They need to be dogged for this
We must not let it go away!
Republicans have failed at everything that secures this Country.
From Katrina,Social Security,Medicare,Immigration,Civil Rights,Health care,Treatment of Suspected National Security Criminals,Port Security, Oversight of Any Federal Spending, Equipping and Honoring the Contracts of Term Service of Our Armed Forces, Free Access to Deals that Effect Trade, Protection from Pedophilia,Personal Privacy of US Citizens, International Relations,
Declaration of War on No one and anyone, Planning for Successful Occupation and Restoration of Countries They have invaded, Fair Voting Practices, Factual and Fair Communications over the National Airwaves,
Protecting the Very Environment that we need to Sustain Life on this Planet by denying Global Warming.
Republicans have stood for their own advancement in lou of the general good and those in service have broken their oath of office. They are unable to lead this country and are liable for their neglectful, severance of trust and criminal behavior.

Shame on them!!!! Shame on them!!!

. . . that led me to get so badly and irrefutably busted. Whoever's fault it is, it certainly isn't MINE.

Well, it may have been, but it was really just a cry for help, doncha know?

And I was crying for help because of my addiction to booze/gambling/amphetamines/porn/heroin/shopping/junk food/Beanie Babies that reduced me to this low estate, so that after I check myself into the nearest rehab center, I can go on the morning news shows and talk about my battle with addiction, my search for forgiveness, and my . . .

(drum roll, please)

NEWLY STRENGTHENED RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST MY LORD AND SAVIOR.

I think that's about how these things usually go.
