Poll question: Do you consider Il Dunce a racist?

George Bush may be (is) many bad things, but personally I don't see him as particularly racist. He may be catastrophically uncaring and callous, but I see the motivation coming mostly from elitism, not any particular racial bias.

As bad as that was ......

..... and it was an inexcusable human catastrophe ........ I saw it as a witch's brew of lack of concern, incompetence, innattention, and elitism. I know a lot of people call it a form of racism. I just don't see it that way.

I'm not trying to change any minds here .... just getting a feel for other's views.

I think a lot of people in his cabal are probably racist, but I think he personally would be ok wih a rich, powerful asshole of any race, sex or sexual orientation.

I'm not challenging you, but my take on the word 'despise' includes some conscious decision on the part of thr despiser to ... well .... despise.

I think he's too shallow to have gone that far.

My mother always said that when you wrong another person, you end up hating them.
(Her argument was that when you are an asshole to another person, you have to justify it to yourself by convincing yourself that you are not the asshole and its something wrong with them and not you...fits this bunch to the T)

...and that of the worst kind.I know several who look down on those of "lower caste" with derision, but at very least these are men of achievement whom have at least received advanced degrees or other how benefited society.Mr President Bush (or as I refer to him "Yocko")is much worse-born to money,nursed on money,floated to affluence on other people's money, and cocksure of the value of anyone with money. Picture a spoiled child whose parents start a monopoly game by him ceding to him Boardwalk and Park Place.Now picture him winning the game and deriding his parents for sucking at the game.That's him....

I see no evidence that he believes that Blacks are inferior to Whites or that he harbors any hatred or disdain for Blacks because of our race. In fact, he seems somewhat color blind - to a degree that is actually harmful since he seems to lack any understanding of, concern about or interest in the complicated issues of race in America.

He does, however, show consistently that he is a classist without any sense of empathy for people who are unlike him - White or Black.
