Hastert's "resignation"
I haven't had time to follow this too closely. Are Repugs and "consevatives" demanding that Hastert only resign from his "Speaker of the House' title, or are they wanting him to resign from congress altogether? The distinction could be important re: control of the house this election cycle.

that's what I thought, too, though I'm having no luck at all finding it explicitly stated in any of the right-wing postings, articles and press releases. I guess they're saving the discussion of just what exactly he should resign from until they can obtain an artifical consensus as to "what has to be done." Then they debate the probity of punishment, and force acceptance of the Speaker's job as "more than enough." Control, control, control. Shameless, scheming, ratbags!!
