Proof Lieberman will DEFECT to the GOP in '07...spread the word!
Edited on Wed Oct-04-06 08:06 PM by jackbourassa
Washington Democrats are absolutely fooling themselves if they believe that Joe Lieberman will caucus with them if he should win the election this November. It just doesn't make sense. Lieberman has burned SO MANY bridges with Democrats that any kind of reconciliation is IMPOSSIBLE. Worse, if Lieberman should caucus with the Dems then he would piss of Connecticut Republicans...you know the ones who give Lieberman two-thirds of his support!

It's a silly pipe dream to believe that Lieberman will caucus with us. He has proven himself to be a gutless coward who covets power more than anything! Lieberman may cost us Democrats a majority in the Senate if he is elected.

Don't believe me? Read this and puke! Joe Lieberman defended Dennis Hastert and thinks everyone is being unfair to him...

http://nedlamont.com/blog/1658/ned-on-joe-liebermans-defense-of-dennis-hastert

Not convinced, huh? Read this and puke some more! New York Republican Mayor Mike Bloomberg has dispatched several of his aides to help Lieberman in anticipation that Joe will NOT caucus with the Democrats...

http://nymag.com/daily/politics/2006/10/_mayor_bloomberg_just_produced.html

Since when has being a moderate meant that you were a total Republican apologist? He's not a moderate, he's a turncoat. Democrats better wake up to this before it's too late

LIEBERMAN HAS TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

8. I've been saying this for a while .....
..... ***if*** the 'counters' count the self selected 3rd party guy running against Lamont as a Dem, then we MUST get 52 seats for a guaranteed majority.

The self selected 3rd party guy running against Lamont as a Dem can NOT be counted on to keep his promise to caucus with the Dems.

13. Gutless Coward? Hardly. Standing with a most unpopular President
Edited on Thu Oct-05-06 12:21 AM by Tom Joad
in his most insane policies is not a sign of cowardice. Foolishness and extremism, Yes, most definitely. Not cowardice. and now Joe is standing by the Republican speaker while Joe's fellow Republicans are deserting Hastert. He gets more foolish by the day.
You can help Joe and people like him. Give generously.

16. He'll go with whichever party controls the chairmanships
Lieberman is only concerned about Lieberman, hence the name of his party Connecticut for Lieberman, not Lieberman for Connecticut. Joe will go with whoever controls the majority in the Senate and therefore will offer him chairmanships.

21. interesting link..
I believe Lieberman will switch parties, unless he is defeated this year. Otherwise..what Lieberman does next depends on who has the majority in the Senate. If Republicans still have a majority, I agree Lieberman will switch and may even run for re-election again..but only if Republicans still have a majority in 2012. If Democrats win control of the Senate this year, I still think Lieberman will switch parties in 2007. But I doubt he'll run for re-election again, and its very likely he may run for President as a Republican in 2008.

If he is elected...he may be our next SoD...when they get rid of Rummy.

He'll have to become a Thug...that's the deal he struck when he got that kiss. This has been in the works for a long time.

22. Trust Lieberman at your peril

Every suspicion that Lieberman was a Repug in Dem clothing has been solidly proven. He can never be trusted and my hope is that he finally flames out and becomes a household term for a turncoat.

26. I think he'll defect then
I think the republicans in such a case will be so desperate to retain power they will give him whatever cushy chairmainships he wants. He'll hold out to the last minute and extract whatever deal he can get.

He's proven himself to look out for himself, and himself only. He has no loyalty to anyone.

And unfortunately a blue state may still vote for this SOB. WTF is wrong with the nutmeg state? It voted against Bush by a good 8-10%...

27. He will attempt to use both sides to garner himself the most
publicity and attention. Then he will piously declaim his solitary position of bi-partisan.

Holy Joe will continue to be essentially up for grabs to the highest bidder. Blech.
