We'll have a new story, a story as big as when CBS used fake documents to attack Pres Bush.

1. sad on so many levels.

(a) even if guy ws 18, it was still guy/guy (which is against Republican rules!)

(b) not just about one guy

(c) Monica was over 20, yet that made no difference to anyone. Still spent tens of millions of dollars investigating and impeached the president.

(d) the whole cyber thing is just icky to people.

2. These people are brain dead.
Even on the small chance, the one page is 18 (which Sludge has not even remotely offered proof for), many of the other pages Foley contacted have already proven to be under 18. I am offended that these people get to breathe the same air I do.

4. i DO want to know about this. it DOES make a difference
i got this last night in conversation with republican. and it does matter. painting all these people as "kid" and then one of the im is 18, legal adult. that makes a difference and changes the way this story goes. personally i need to be informed so i DONT give out wrong information

we dont have anything on the im'ers. we have only a little on the guy that made and email. i was going on the assumption these kids wanted to be free of foley. i heard this im'er didnt want his information exposed and he didnt want to go after foley with it. i think that is unclear and i need to know

this is a heads up. we need info. there is a difference

5. Not sure it makes a difference since SOME of them were
underage----too bad he couldn't wait until all of them reached 18.

7. I also think the idea that he stalked them when they were underage,
so he could move to something more when they turned 18 is just icky. I don't want someone gaining a child's trust so they can pounce on them over the lighted candles of the child's 18th birthday cake.

9. i agree. i suggest the emails are actions of a preditor. not illegal
cant be proven...but... formethey are warnings enough that something is to come

the 18 yr old though,it is being suggested he did not want his im's exposed and he did not have an issue with foley. i need to know if this is factually true. the point is.... he is an adult, regardless of the young age vs old. foley seemedto wait until they went home and out of work environment. these thingsneed to be considered, with this ONE page hence far. it was no one elses business. i felt the same with clinton. moinca 22, (not `19 like hannity said) was an adult. their decision. thought clinton a pig, screwin on his wife and old on young.... but.... i had to stand up for both peoples rights to make their choice. and clinton suffered the consequences for his choices. as did monica, ultimately

14. From what I have read there was more than 1 person
Just because of of those pages was 18 doesn't mean that he's off the hook. We're probably talking about an age range of 16-18

17. I think several were listed at age 16
Wanna here something really crazy!

If it wasn't for Foley's legislation (which passed) that goes after anyone who exploits children under the age of 18, this might not have been illegal. In DC, the age of consent is 16 but in Foley's legislation that he helped get passed as the chair of Missing & Exploited Children could very well put him on the Sex Offenders list.

19. We had a repuke state senator get nailed by one of his bills
Tom Druce wrote a bill that passed which increased jail time for Drunk Drivers and anyone caught doing a 'Hit and Run'

Ironcially Druce's SUV plowed over some guy in Harrisburg and instead of helping the guy (who probably would have lived if he got to the hospital on time) Druce kept on going, had his SUV repaired and then turned the SUV in earlier on the lease. The garage that did the repairs saved the bumper and turned it in as evidence.

20. MSNBC just showed an IM where
the kid wrote "I am under 18 and spoke of legal issues.)

I think it makes sense for Democrats to speak on it, but not to get into the sludgy details. Kerry has answered it well this way:

"He said congressional leaders are failing to live to the same standards as the public.

He said it's troubling that some people in Congress knew about the allegations before they became public. If teachers and administrators failed to act on allegations like that in a school, he said, no one would stand for it. The same should go for Congress, he said.

"I've never seen ... more willful denial of a fundamental responsibility to heed the law and live by a certain standard," he said."

The danger of Democrats not saying anything, is shown by the fact that McCain is the one asking for investigation.

'fraid not. Yesterday's news, Matt...

Oh! John Kerry's affair with an intern? MUST CREDIT DRUDGE!

Drudge has taken planting the falsehood within the non-statement (DEVELOPING!) into an art form!

10. From KKKarl Rove's FAX to Drudge's web site!
Edited on Thu Oct-05-06 08:17 AM by ShortnFiery
It's true that KKKarl scoped the stain on Monica's blue dress to Drudge - that's what made his SICKO and often flatly WRONG information on his website far TOO damn popular. :(

Get this fact: Whenever KKKarl wishes to embark on a whisper campaign, he trial tests his FILTH balloon on Drudge's site to see if it flies.

It seems that, not necessarily true to form, the M$M is surprisingly accurate (save for FAUX) on the cover-up data.

Remember fellow DUers --> Every time you click on Drudge's link, a Rovarian Hell's Angel gets it's wings. ;)

...it's in the F.R. post, but I didn;t make it "clickable." And for what it's worth, I didn't go there either.

13. Uh, haven't a lot more IMs and emails come to light
Where the pages were younger than 18? Even if true, I don't see this as somehow getting democrats in trouble like some of the freepers say. In fact, the congressional democrats have been pretty smart in staying out of it for the most part and letting the republicans implode.

15. I think the idiots at FR think that as long as ONE of the pages was 18
then it was ok and we don't have to worry about several other pages under the age of 18.
