What the voters care about
"IT'S IRAQ and how they spend our money," say rural
Republicans. They don't care about this inside stuff. Their
guy not a perpetrator. (This from NPR and forthcoming Pew
poll. Foleygate not changing votes.)

1. I heard that. Crazy, but you have to think your party is getting nailed
big time 24 hrs a day on TV...etc. What else would you say? Oh the TV people are right and we need to take down MY party?

Honestly, it is going to sink in sooner or later, you'll see.

2. What they REALLY care about is gasoline prices. That's how stupid they are
They think that when gas went over $3.25 a gallon that it was just a coincidence. Coincidence my ass. It was artificially made that high, just so it would be easier to incorporate a drastic drop in prices in time for the elections, making everything seem warm and fuzzy.

4. Heard that story
NPR took pains to mention that these were anecdotal accounts. The folks they interviewed were all rural Republicans who attend church regularly and who say that values are their highest priority. The real hard core GOP base types.

The folks interviewed said that if their GOP representative was not personally involved in the scandal, they would still vote for him/her. One guy talked about Clinton and "that intern", as if it were an equivalent situation! It's hard to see what "values" these voters care about. Taxes maybe?
