On CNN House Members are saying Foley won't be subpoena
because he is no longer a House Member. BULLSHIT

He committed a crime on or while in Congress. They have jurisdiction in my opinion to issue any subpoena they desire when it comes to anything a member has done while working as a member of Congress. ESPECIALLY, when Foley will be receiving a pension and other benefits.

8. Congress investigating ITSELF
That's a grand strategy. :eyes:

Hell, if Denny Hastert, The Speaker is NOT going to resign, then evidently there's NOT a problem. After all he is the ONE RESPONSIBLE. :grr:

They don't want him suphoenad because he will litterally destroy them...

If he was smart (since they have thrown him to the wolves) he would contact the FBI and tell them everything....

5. Damn them! This is super corrupt.
:puke: I don't think there's enough Diebold tampering to NOT have the masses of people have their say come November 7th.

What the whorish M$M and Congress does not realize is that the people, regardless of party and the 33% RW backwash, are thoroughly disgusted with Foley's sexual predation over the past 10 years. :grr:

23. I want to cry, this is the first time in Dear Leader's reign that I KNOW
that we are going to lose our Civil Liberties. That too many members of Congress are more concerned with keeping their positions rather than doing the right thing.

I love The Democratic Party but if all else is lost: Vote Out Incumbents for Democracy.

All we can do is try to keep this election fair.

Edited on Thu Oct-05-06 01:24 PM by Dr Fate
And yes- it has been five minutes. I know about it=- so that means DEMS should know about it.

You act like this is the first time DEMS have just sat by and let the GOP/media define everything. "Obvious" indeed.

Obvious about what? Are you claiming I am a troll or something? What are you saying is "obvious?"

Surely your comment was within the rules-but please clarify what you meant.

26. Nancy Pelosi blocked Freeh
You don't pay attention to anything Democrats do, you just scream 'where are the Dems, where are the Dems' and lead a charging pack that does nothing but create divisiveness. It's pretty obvious that you enjoy it, I've got no idea why.

18. Nobody is bashing Democrats ...
However, don't you find it STRANGE that *some* seem to help The Party lose?

Is that at all troubling to you?

Yes, we love the Democratic Party and support Democrats, but this is sick stuff that can only benefit both The Republicans and A Cover-UP.

This is Stupid! They are going to intimidate the pages and ex-pages BEFORE the RNC mole Louie Freed even gets his hands on them.

Now, if the Democrats don't speak out with - Nooooo! - we, The Democratic Party, are screwed again.

I'm getting sick of having hope only to, in the last five minutes, members of OUR Team, selling out to the Republican Leadership. :grr:

24. This is all Dr Fate EVER says
It doesn't matter what's going on, it doesn't matter how many times a Democrat HAS spoken to an issue - anytime anything new breaks at all, Dr Fate is ranting 'where's the Democrats'. It's ridiculous.

Edited on Thu Oct-05-06 02:00 PM by Dr Fate
And you will continue to make excuses for them no matter how many times they refuse to do something about media bias.

Give me an example where I claimed that a Democrat was not on TV saying something, but he really was.

29. There's no problem to correct
Dems are letting people like Bill Press and Al Franken carry water on this, to keep the focus on Republicans and not partisan fighting. It's the smart thing to do which is probably why you're screaming 'where's the Dems'.

Edited on Thu Oct-05-06 02:37 PM by Dr Fate
I see what you mean- we get the folks who have guts to take on the GOP/media over these cover-ups and to fight for us- not our elected leaders.

But seriously- you really think it is okay for elected DEMS to let the media and elected Republicans be the only one framing the cover-up issue?

32. Do you think people care about partisan slingfests???
They don't. Republicans were shooting at each other and Democrats let them. We had our pundits out there throwing on the fuel. If any elected Dem had stepped into that, they'd have become the target. STUPID.

Now they're circling the wagons and Dems are stepping up. Pelosi and Nadler in the last 10 minutes.

Are you going to support them or slink off until you can concoct something else to attack Dems over?

35. I hope you are right. I've heard the "let them fall ontheir swords" before
Edited on Thu Oct-05-06 02:43 PM by Dr Fate
And yes- I support all valid efforts of the DEMS- but dont expect me to give the "strategists" who lost the last 3 elections the benefit of the doubt and think I wont keep their feet to the fire over this.

I've seen them use the "rope a dope"-"Judo"-"fall on their sword"-"let the pundits & comedians handle it" strategy & fail WAY too many times.

In any event- I invite you to post examples of DEMS, ON TV, fighting this where swing voters can see it- in the other thread that this one inspired.

I'll leave you free to priase Dean in this one.

Edited on Thu Oct-05-06 01:17 PM by ShortnFiery
This is really STUPID. Why are the Democrats cooperating with this whitewash? I swear that they seemingly do the DUMBEST ACTS to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory. :grr:

Who wants to bet that Republicans will intimidate the ex-pages they call into question? :grr:

Denny's doing a hell of a job but everyone else besides him and FOLEY will be subpoenaed. :wtf: :puke:

Fellow DUers, I fear Dear Leader RULES with the thug Republican Congress for at least the next decade.

Our only hope is IF, by some miracle, Our Democratic Representatives FIND THEIR SPINE! :scared:

If not, between the Congressional Cover-Up and RNC mole "Louie Freeh" - we are going to be slaughtered.

37. I'm not distressed over this.
The criminal investigation will take care of Foley.

Let the subpoenas unravel all the unknown pages, coverups and accessory crimes. Foley will be sweating with the FBI.

Plus it just shows another angle of the republicans interest to cluster in a pile.

There are no down sides to any of this.
