Arm the Teachers fraternity – Republican Frank Lasee
Posted on : Thu, 05 Oct 2006 17:40:03 GMT | Author : Pat Fryer

Green Bay State representative, Frank Lasee proposes to bring in a legislation that would allow teachers and School personnel to carry weapons into Schools. He said that the decision would be left to the teachers but if they do decide to carry weapons, then they would have to undergo strict training on usage of weapons.

The proposal has been prompted by recent shootings in Schools in Colorado, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. In one of the incidents, Principal John Klang of Weston High School was shot and killed.

According to Lasee, the proposal stems from his study of such existing legislation in Israel and Thailand. He said that this would ensure that School personnel and teachers are better equipped to face situations which could otherwise be life threatening.

But the proposal of Lasee has been met with responses varying from cold to stringent opposition from the various school staff and also law enforcers.

<<snip>>

Middleton Cross Plains Superintendent William Reis said the proposal of Lasee is not at all reasonable and would only amount to asking for more trouble.

1. This man is a damned stupid fool.
Guns in schools? Is he incapable of seeing the horrible things that could happen?

4. My brother in law used to take a shotgun to school in the fall
so he could go pheasant hunting after school. They used to keep them in their lockers during the day.

6. This what the gun lobby wants, everybody armed
Guns in school. they're working on it hard. Concealed carry in school parking lots? The gun nuts wanted it. The NRA tried to destroy Kaine in Virginia over this very issue. The Warner administration thought they had a truce with the NRA that there would be no new gun laws. The gun pimps want guns in schools, churches, bars and government buildings. The US has the highest gun crime rate, murder rate and gun death rate of all industrialized nations by multiples. The question is when to we copy Europe's and Australia's successful sensible gun regulations? After your child is dead?

7. That was thirty years ago in Iowa
Things have certainly changed.

I don't mind someone owning guns, I have a couple locked up in the house here.

Concealed carry is unacceptable to me though. Not only do I not think there is reason to carry a weapon, but to hide it is even worse. Concealed weapons make people more fearful and suspicious of the people they encounter and we need no more fear.

5. "...cold to stringent opposition..."
That's because they see LaSee for the fucking nutcase he is.

Being from Wisconsin, I have to say this man is a lunatic and most everyone knows it. Just about every crazy idea for reichwing, bigoted and distracting legislation is written or sponsored by LaSee, like he's the poster boy for the lunatic fringe of the reich wing. Unfortunately, at least half of his 60,000 constituents love his brand of hatefilled insanity and re-elect him over and over again - to the point that he is running unopposed. Now his dumbass remarks have prompted someone to run a write-in campaign against him.

...Dobbs, 38, is a Two Rivers resident and is in his fourth two-year term on the Maintowoc County Board of Supervisors.

Dobbs said he was planning to register as a write-in candidate on Thursday with the state elections board.

Lasee has no challengers on the Nov. 7 general election ballot. On Wednesday he said he would introduce legislation allowing teachers and school administrators to carry guns in schools.

"Representative Lasee is truly out of touch with his district and needs to leave office if these statements are his true beliefs," Dobbs said...

I fear it will be too little too late.
