Micheal Ware- Reporting the TRUTH in IRAQ and it AIN'T GOOD!
While All Eyes Are On Foley, Iraq Is Rapidly Deteriorating
So far we have lost 19 soldiers in Iraq this month, and today is only the fourth day of the month. Just today, the Iraqi government had to pull a brigade of around 700 policemen that have possible ties to death squads http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061004/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq_061004182519

Things are going down hill very fast in Iraq, and Michael Ware was on the Situation Room and gave a very dismal view of what is going on.

MUST SEE VIDEO OF WARE REPORTING....

majority....and still, survey shows how miserably unprepared we were and remain! Thanks for the link for those who haven't seen this yet!

13. They may have no choice
He came over from TIME, so he's pretty tight with the Time-Warner family. But more than that, Ware is just about the only person willing to go over there. Ware is still out and about.

9. Ware is fearless and tells the truth.
he challenges Blinker consistently. CNN made a great move by bring him on as a full time on air correspondent. He is or was Time Magazines bureau chief in Iraq. I have great respect for him as well as Christiane Amanpour.

20. He reports on all the CNN shows that cover the news
I've been singing his praises for a couple of weeks now here on DU. Since I'm usually here on net at 10PM I usually have 360 on and see him. Also see him on Dobbs and Blitzer of course and even CNN's morning show.

He looks and talks like a war correspondent. Is he Aussie? Wonder was it a brawl(s) or boxing where he got the nose so rearranged.

said that things are much worse in Baghdad than they were even five weeks ago when he was there. Foley's entertaining, but we really do need to get back to the broader issues.

25. but we have to stay the course, cuz that's what chimpy says...
and he has a direct line to god,
so i have faith in him,
and even though things look bad right now,
"we're turning a corner"

right.

"they would greet us as liberators with flowers"
4 years later- civil war.

3 new strategies in 3 months... only making things worse.

these guys blew it when they disbanded the army, criminalized the entire civil service, tried to take private control of the oil fields and twist Iraq into a client state for multinational profit motives. It's been all downhill from there and now we have sanctioned death squads operating with support of the shia faction within the govt and an ineffectual puppet that has no credibility cuz he just parrots the US neo-con party line.

but what does Bushco care... they can go on killing each other as long as we can have our oil and taxpayer financed no-bid rebuilding contracts.

I feel for the Iraqis (and the US soldiers caught in the crossfire) since the Bushco f'd their country up. Not a surprise, since they've f'd up our country too.

what do we do now????

We win the fucking election, that's what! Anything short of that, and we're in deeper doo-doo and even the next 16 years with Democratic administrations won't be able to take us back to where were before these assholes stole our democracy!

27. Yes, we win and Lamont must beat Lieberman
Edited on Fri Oct-06-06 12:48 PM by Donna Zen
We can write and call all we want. As long as the republicans are in charge only their base will be listened to. It would especially helpful to oust Lieberman. It would mean that the next push for letters and calls would be listened to. Think of that.

Plus, many, not all, of the new folks are connected to the roots. I'm really thrilled with what I'm hearing from the Fighting Dems. I don't see them taking any shit.
