DICK MORRIS SAYS GOP SUNK IN '06 HILLARY WINS IN '08
Edited on Wed Oct-18-06 03:59 PM by powergirl
I can't stand Dick Morris but he knows his politics. Since this came from Newsmax, I hope those Freeps are shaking in their boots.

The GOP is "deckchairs on the Titanic," and single women will propel Hillary Clinton to the White House in 2008, says political analyst Dick Morris. Republicans are watching their base shrink dramatically in the wake of the Mark Foley scandal, said Morris, appearing on "Your World" with Neil Cavuto.

Cavuto asked if the strong equity market and pretty good economic numbers were "falling on deaf ears?" Morris recalled that there were pretty decent economic numbers in 1994 under the Democrats when the GOP captured control of Congress.

Noting that the good economy is not helping because it takes a "long time for the economy to percolate through" and thus cannot help the GOP, Morris said the "short term cause" of the coming Republican disaster is "the base abandoning the Republican party because the Foley scandal hurt - you can't imagine how much that scandal hurt." Morris said incredulously, "Right now Democrats have an 8 point lead over Republicans on promoting morality in America? Duh!"

He explained that most politicians work on getting a percentage of the voters who are out there, but Hillary Clinton works on increasing the number of voters on her side. He pointed out the recent article which revealed that half of all households in the U.S. are unmarried. He also said that 19 million single women voted in 2000, and 28 million voted in '04. "And I'll bet 35 million vote" in 2006. "The number of single mom, minimum wage earning waitresses who come out and vote are going to be the phenomenon." Hillary might not do that well among the current electorate, Morris said, but she'll grow the electorate by 10 million votes and that's how she'll win. http://www.newsmax.com/scripts/printer_friendly.pl?page=http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2006/10/18/144859.shtml?s=ic

4. At least wrong as often as he is correct. The guy is "right" all the time
and IMHO he's a smarmy bastard.

18. He dreams of President Hillary detaining him under the MCA
Edited on Wed Oct-18-06 10:32 PM by No Exit
When he gets to the part of his nightly dream where Hillary says, "Okay, now, you plump little pervert, you'll talk or you'll be stripped naked and waterboarded!"... I think that's when he soils the sheets.

Um, Dick... take it easy, 'kay?

2. That's nice. It will be interesting to see how she does in Dem debates.

And see if she can dominate those debates the way past nominees did.

3. He's just trying to insure his meal ticket. If the Clintons' star ever
fades, Morris' career will tank.

5. I don't beleive any of this until I see....
Hasterts fat ass waddelling down the steps of the House podium after he hands the gavel over to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi! NOT ONE WORD OF IT! I think the Reubs are trying to get their base scared so they are doing and saying eveything they can to get out the vote.

blown out in 08 by Jeb?

Thanks Dick.

9. Hillary isn't saying the things I want to hear.
---- Smart as she is, Sen Clinton is not presidential material. She's treating today's events as if they were politics-as-usual,.. and they aren't. She plays the system,... but not necessarily for the right reasons. She wants to be president so she can be the FIRST WOMAN ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE US,.... not because she wants to save the republic,.. or even knows how to save it. And plenty of republicans are dying for her to run.

10. I think I know a true leader when I see one
I think Russ Feingold has got it.

Hillary is kind of like the Democratic version of John McCain. Will twist in the wind and compromise all their principles and things they stand for if it will help to get them elected.

I'm glad she's on our side, but I just would like her to stay in the senate and not ruin chances for '08.

16. Hilary is DLC
so I'd question if she's on our side.

I'm hoping my future husband*, Russ Feingold, goes for it. Hopefully, the country will be ready for a populist president and reject another corporate stooge.

*I don't care what Stephanie Miller says. I shall challenge her to a duel over Russ.

Just making sure that they scare them enough to ensure sure they go vote. All pubs hate Hillary, they use Hillary when ever they want to work them up into a frenzy. Pure BS, thats all it is.
