Bush and these generals meeting for political reasons?
Edited on Sat Oct-21-06 12:08 PM by gulliver
These are Bush's generals. He sandbagged all of the ones who didn't support his Iraq disaster. So these generals are in it up to their necks with Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and the rest of the geniuses. These generals will go down in history as losers. In 2008, if a Dem is elected and a decent Sec Def is placed in the cabinet, these generals are retirees. They know it.

So the disaster maker and the war losing generals are meeting right before the election. I see on CNN that they have a picture of Bush and the war losers "strategizing" so we can see them doing it.

This is politics. More politics by the people who brought America a war disaster.

2. The Crystal Ball Says:
The Generals will "want" a slightly-less-sane version of what Jim Baker's "committee" is about to say that it wants.

Anyone wanna put a 20 on it?

4. Well, everything's gonna be A-OK, I'm sure. After all, Don Rumsfeld
just this past week said that "the Good Lord" is at the helm, watching over outcomes in the Middle East.

____

When the Secretary of Defense invokes the almighty as a reference point in an armed conflict, I think it's fair to say that the Bush administration's foreign policy fortunes are on the sharpest of downswings.

At some point -- and we may be there right now -- the generals are going to have to tell these assholes that their war has been a failure, that "victory" is not a meaningful goal or even a possible outcome, and that they cannot in good conscious send men and women into a chaotic, unmanageable civil war.
