CT's largest paper to endorse all Dem Congressional candidates
Colin McEnroe's blog:

Throw 'em Out
Wow. The Hartford Courant will endorse, tomorrow, all five Democrats running for Congress in this state. I couldn't tell you the last time that happened. Or the last time it endorsed so many challengers to long-term incumbents.

From the editorial:

"The nation is mired in an unpopular war. Congress exercises no spending restraint. Lobbyist influence is at high tide. Nothing has been done to protect the long-term financial stability of Social Security and Medicare or to promote energy independence. There has been too little oversight of the Republican-controlled executive branch. Scandal taints Congress, with members being sent to prison, forced to resign or under indictment or investigation.
"It's time for a change to Democratic control."

3. No word on Lieberman: just House of Reps.
They did endorse Lieberman in the primary, but maybe they feel differently now. We'll see. I bet there's some intense discussion on the editorial board.

11. I really doubt it. I would fall over in shock if they didn't
endorse Joe. He's so thoroughly ingrained with all the movers and shakers in Hartford.

7. Lieberman is not runnng has a DEM
All Dems for Congress would include Lamont.

When they say 'Congress' that usually means both houses.

8. That's why I thought the DINO might be involved; I forgot about
his changed party status.

9. I'm taking it as House of Reps only because it says 5 candidates.
and there are five districts--although only three are real races.
But these races are critical for a Dem takeover. Lamont or no Lamont, this is wonderful news. The Courant is not a liberal paper. This is like when your life-long Republican father who voted for Bush twice says, "You know who I'd like to see as President? Russ Feingold."

Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating. But only a little.

6. Talk about a 180!
Is it too much to hope that they'll abandon Lieberman?

10. Wow. I'm truly shocked. I was sure they'd follow their
usual adoration of the status quo. (This is the paper that endorsed Bush not once but twice, and Rowland as well).

That says something, it really does.
