(Minnesota/Oberstar) - Rod Grams doesn't live in MN08...
He owned property in Pine County, I believe it was, but was renting it to someone else. When he decided to run for office, he claimed it as his residence. Otherwise, his Minnesota home was in Rochester and he spent the vast majority of his time in D.C. as a lobbyist until very recently.

He's a foreigner to the 8th District and this should be publicized. If anyone knows how to dig up more specific info and is willing to do so, message me with sources.

Oberstar isn't threatened, but GOPers are trying to make a dent in this district that Oberstar has won for 32 years without ever losing a single county, regardless of redistricting over that period.

3. You should live in it to represent it....and to my knowledge...
You do have to claim residency in that district for 6 months, if I'm not mistaken.

4. You just have to live in the state....
And I agree, you should live in the district in order to represent the people of that particular district...

5. Show me a source because...
What I've seen this campaign is you must claim residency in the District which is why Grams switched his residency to St. Joseph.

7. I'm probably remembering the wrong town...
I had just read something about Patty. I thought it sounded wrong. It's Pine County I think though. Either way, he changed his residence to the 8th District. I know that for fact from inside information.
