I'm glad that next week is that last full week before the election.

I'm glad that next week is that last full week before the election.
I can't take the suspense.

Anyway, please spread the word that Election Day is November 7, 2006.

If you have a website, please put that on top of the homepage, like I did at: www.moveleft.com

1. I can't take the commercials, so yes the elections can't come soon enough
Every other second there is a RNC commercial running against Duckworth, Bean or against the governor of Illinois.

I cannot take it anymore.

2. I can take the suspense OK
What I can't take is the escalating shrillness of ads from the loony right. The liquid feces spilling out of my TV screen whenever I try to catch the local weather have discouraged me from doing even that. I'll be glad to stop relying on the meager information the local stations put on their web sites.

No matter who wins, I'll be celebrating on November 8. Even if Heather Wilson (R-COW) lies and cheats her way back in, I won't have to look at her for another two years. Better, I won't have to listen to her. Fingernails on a blackboard are more pleasant.

4. I am not all worked up like before the 2004 election
It's not an all or nothing game like the presidential election. I feel pretty damn good about taking the House. And by some miracle (i.e, election fraud) we don't take the House we will surely pick up seats anyway. The Senate is doable but tough. At this point taking 2 of 3 in VA, TN and MO is a 50/50 proposition.

5. I can't take the suspense, either, or the commercials.
There's one on the TV, as I write this... *sigh* And the pandering that takes place in the MSM totally drives me up the wall. But I'm also looking forward to getting this over with. I have every hope of taking the House and think the Senate is a possibility. IMHO, if we don't take this election, I'll be thoroughly convinced that this country is absolutely insane...

But Howard Dean, who speaks out and very plainly, never gets tripped up by the likes of Blitzer and his ilk, made a very valid point, the other day, that has really stuck with me. Regarding the decision-making process, especially regarding the war in Iraq, the president is still the commander-in-chief, the "decider," regarding our armed forces, and no matter who controls the Congress, we will never see real change until we can change the executive branch. It can't come soon enough for me... *sigh*:-(
