Who to call on Election Day if fraud or disenfranchised
Can someone post a link to a Dem site that describes the plan of action if we witness or are subject to some voting shenanigans on Election Day? I would assume there is a list by state, county, congressional district, voting precinct, etc. that has phone numbers of who to call for immediate action.

If I go to vote on Nov. 7 and they say I am not registered I want to be able to call someone from my cell phone right on the spot, bring some backup, a TV news team, whatever, and raise holy hell right there in front of other voters.

I'm in a repuke leaning district but the incumbent repuke is facing a very stiff challenge for the first time so anything could happen to us Dems.

11. Thank you!
I'm going to have some of these New Jersey cards ready to go, and see if I can get our canvassers to hand them out with the other materials election day!

That is, if our local HQ doesn't already have a team in place.

4. Most local Dem headquarters have a system set up to address
any problems, some with lawyers on stand-by. I think you should call locally as any problem would be handled more easily than calling a central number that might get mucked up because it's so busy.

12. i agree, local is best.
election laws vary so much. the county board of election, or your local democratic party should be able to help you.

5. What do you mean "if"...
It's already predicted and WILL happen.

That's why we need to have everyone who will vote against Bush and the Chimpy Shills to vote in massive numbers. We need an extra 5% padding in tight races just to ake sure they can't steal that much.

17. ?
This is listed as a form of voter intimidation: "Voters being forced to prove U.S. citizenship before being allowed to vote." Isn't this a legal requirement for being able to vote?

19. Yes, you have to be a citizen to vote, but you don't ....
...necessarily need to prove your citizenship on Election Day.

Some Americans were born at home in the US and don't have birth certificates and would have a hard time proving that they're Americans.

7. Here's one:
Verified Voting's hotline is 1-866-OUR-VOTE (1-866-687-8683). Not only can they try to help resolve the problem, but they can include your report in any compilation of problems affecting the elections.

8. I found a national voter alert phone number...
here. This phone number, 1-866-MYVOTE1, was provided for the 2004 presidential election; don't know if this will be an on-going project. And, for what it's worth, a co-sponsor of the project is NBC.

15. In 2004 we had those "election protection cards," that I passed out to friends and carried with me.
It had numbers to call and instructions about what to do if you ran into problems. Is there anything like that, this time around?

20. 1-866-OUR-VOTE
Wanted to get this back on the Board

Sounds like 1-866-OUR-VOTE is the best bet.

http://www.michaelmoore.com/words/the06fix/index.php?id=300

"Jonah Goldman, a lawyer and elections expert with the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, said his organization is prepared for the worst. With the N.A.A.C.P. and the People for the American Way Foundation, the lawyers group will have about 500 people fielding calls to a national hot line (1-866-OUR-VOTE) about problems and providing information to voters and poll workers.
