Ohio State Issue Misprinted On Some Ballots
As if the dueling issues - 4 and 5 - weren't confusing enough, now we have a misprint which lists a law adoption as an amendment.

State Issue Misprinted On Some Ballots

TROY, Ohio (AP) -- A state issue that would ban smoking in nearly all public buildings is mistakenly referred to as a proposed amendment instead of a law on ballots in Miami County in western Ohio. The county elections director says absentee voters are receiving a special notice with their ballots in the mail. The notice also will be posted at polling places on Election Day.

The notice tells a voter that the ballot on Issue Five reads, "Shall the proposed amendment be adopted?" but should read, "Shall the proposed law be adopted?"

The error was pointed out by a voter this week.

The notice is needed because there's not enough time before the November Seventh election to have absentee ballots reprinted or electronic voting
    machines reprogrammed.

1. Cuyahoga County BOE to count absentee ballots election night.
Elections board promises to count absentee ballots election night

The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections is finding out that voters are listening. After problems with electronic voting machines in May, the election board recommended voters, ask for absentee ballots.

Currently, there have been 96,000 absentee ballots requested.

The board is projecting the final request will be more than 100,000.

So is the board ready?

Election officials promise we'll have the absentee ballots counted election night, even if Secretary of State Ken Blackwell's office is not making things any easier.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Star Jones gave her view of the governor's race as she appeared with Democratic candidate Ted Strickland this morning in Youngstown.

The TV chat star said the next governor should make health care a priority and make sure older people are never forced to choose between eating or taking their blood pressure medication.

Jones also asked Strickland to promise he wouldn't become one of those governors who she said forget about interests at home and focus their attention elsewhere.
