Flu Vaccine Delays?
Are all areas having delays in the shipment of adult flu vaccine again this year? I read in the local morning paper that our health department has only received 10%, which is not enough to begin dispensing flu shots to the local citizens. The reason stated was:

"The apparent reason for delays was that one major vaccine manufacturer experienced slow-growing cultures that held up production."

Apparently, they received the children's vaccine on time, but the adult vaccine won't be delivered until mid November or early December. This county registered their first flu case last week.

I found it interesting that one county that has received their vaccine is providing one-stop shopping--casting ballots and getting a vaccination at the same time.

2. I am in south Texas. I've already gotten the flu. I've never had it this early.
I have never had it before December before. I don't even know if the shot or mist is available here yet except to chronically ill, immunosuppressed patients.

I just heard this morning that our school system employees will not be getting the vaccine until the first week in December.

My DOCTOR (not a clinic, a MEDICAL DOCTOR) had not received the supply she was supposed to have received in October yet, and I was told that if I can find a flu shot clinic, I should get one anywhere I can, because she doesn't know WHEN it's coming.

How unbelieveable is that???... in a country that's supposed to have the finest healthcare in the world?
