"The Democrats Don't Have a Plan"
Edited on Mon Oct-30-06 09:41 PM by lwcon
Do these people exist? The ones who are excited if they can guess which celebrity's legs are in the Daisy Dukes shorts in the web-banner ad (hint: she's Ashlee Simpson's sister)?

The ones who hear this and are impressed in any way whatsoever?

"If you listen carefully for a Democrat plan for success, they don't have one. Iraq is the central front in the war on terror, yet they don't have a plan for victory," (Bush) said.

What part of "every post-invasion plan we've had for Iraq has failed completely (except for the ones we willfully ignored), and Iraq had nothing to do with terror until we destabilized it into civil war on an insane whim" don't these people understand?

Let's say I'm vying for a promotion, and so is a co-worker named Sandy. To help the boss make a decision, I grab a guy off the street, stab him in one eye and throw acid in the other. The guy is flailing around trying to kill us, and his family is quite perturbed.

I tell the boss he has to hire me, because Sandy doesn't have a plan to restore the guy's eyesight. What kind of imbecile (or maniac) does the boss have to be to think I'm his man?

2. They're going to win it with noisemakers and firecrackers

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The military's top generals have warned Iraq is on the cusp of a civil war and that U.S. troops must remain in large numbers until at least next spring. But if the winds suddenly blow a different direction, Congress is ready to celebrate with a $20 million victory party.

Lawmakers included language in this year's defense spending bill, approved last week, allowing them to spend the money. The money for "commemoration of success" in Iraq and Afghanistan was originally tucked into last year's defense measure, but went unspent amid an uptick in violence in both countries that forced the Pentagon to extend tours of duty for thousands of troops.

Republicans have yet to claim responsibility for the provision. Democrats say it was likely added by the Senate's majority Republicans, and less than five weeks from congressional elections are pointing to it as another example of where the GOP has gone astray handling the war in Iraq.

"If the Bush administration is planning victory celebrations, Americans deserve to know what their plan is to get us to a victory in Iraq," said Rebecca Kirszner, spokeswoman for Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada.

3. It's the missing blond chick
story wrapped in a burrito. That, along with saying that the Democrats are going to raise taxes are ways to distract the undecided.

4. It's a distraction from the war on terror, and we plan to get the F out.
That's called an exit strategy, something Bush never had. He had a "make some money" strategy, and apparently he was a success.

5. If I could draw..

...I'd draw a cartoon.

In it, Bush and Cheney would be sitting in the front seat of a car going over a cliff, in midair, ala Thelma and Louise.

About halfway to the bottom, Bush would be yelling at some prominent Dem sitting in the back seat "ok, so what's YOUR plan?".

That is the way these folks operate, they make an unholy mess of everything, and then they have the nerve to bitch that "Democrats don't have a plan..wwwaahhh".

News flash to stupid ass Republicans. "Staying the course" is not a plan. Watching American soldiers die month after month year after year with ABSOLUTELY NO PROGRESS WHATSOEVER is not a "plan". Standing before the American people and spouting ridiculous platitudes my teenaged sons can see right through is NOT A PLAN. Muzzling the media and stifling dissent is NOT A PLAN.

The simple fact is this: Democrats could NOT run this war worse if they TRIED.

6. Here is a little something I turned in as a LTTE
the other day that may pertain to this....I'm in a red stae and doubt they will print it but...

This is part of what I feel this election issue boils down to (and, yes, they just don't get it):

It is not about "cutting and running"

It is about putting the leadership in place whom is
competent enough to work us out of this mess in Iraq
one way or the other with the least loss of life. We
expected a Texas Governor to be savvy on the issue's
regarding foreign policy? Understand the Muslim
culture and have a game plan that would work? No, he
only listened to the PNAC ideologues and fixed the
intelligence to sell it, that is fact. There are
others who are much more qualified than this
administration to deal with the Middle East arena.
Unfortunately, Americans decided, with a little help
through disenfranchisement and our one party voting
system, that they would trust a Texas Governor and the
K Street project players before they would trust the
other option, the players who actually HAVE balanced
foreign policy and military experience. Now who do you
trust to fix it?

8. What's wrong with cutting and running?
If you were drunk, or shaken up by choking on a pretzel, and you foolishly started manhandling a bees' nest.... What would you do when the bees started coming after you? I'd cut and run as fast as my little legs would carry me.
