i hope i`m wrong,but i see this thing
slipping away, now before i`m attacked its just that i`m a poll freak and the polls are all to close in the toss-up category to be jumping up and down.the dems are celebrating too early and the usa is probably the last ultra conservative country that considers itself a democracy.besides, the corruption is so deep that it is just to much to overcome.in the past i have posted that in order to win any political election in this country the opposing party must get in the gutter with the rethugs, play their games,in other words be as crooked and corrupt as they are,win by whatever means necessary.this rethug party is imbedded and the mountain to climb on nov. 7 will be very difficult,i hope i`m wrong, america will be lost forever if the dems fail this time, the cable news pundits maybe assisting this rethug group and they have complacency.please someone tell me i`m wrong.

6. I've got a bad feeling too.
Two (at least) rigged elections. Already problems with early voting in Florida.
Too many democrats went along with the Military Commissions Act.
NO big October surprise. Rove working under the radar??
Too many uneducated voters. They believe anything MSM puts out.
Etc,etc,etc....

13. The best solution to fear is POSITIVE ACTION.
My friend,

We have to stop thinking like this:

And start thinking like this:

EVERY TIME I turn around, I hear of lifelong Republicans who are bailing on this so-called 'Republican' party. This is not '00 or '02 or even '04. It's no longer just disaffected Dems & liberals who have had enough.

Of course, we are ALL concerned about what 'could' happen. No, we don't want to dwell on it and we don't want our fears to immobilize us. Just the opposite. Let our fears make us more determined than ever. Yes, we want to do everything we can to ensure our success and pull out all the stops.

Please, let's talk about solutions & positive action rather than our fears. We've got to think like winners, as though f**lure is not an option. I'm not gonna speak or even type the word!

Here's a website you might find helpful: http://www.protectmyvote.org

10. okay, you're wrong....

We can't become Them. If we do that, we've truly lost.

Political power and its fruits are one thing. But there's also a Constitutional issue that fundamentally divides us, which all the other issues and divisions turn out to be subordinated to. Even, and particularly, power.

I don't think the Democratic Party is playing this one softly and is not cutting corners where it can get away with it. It's the majority party now, even though the bad habits and limitations of being a minority party have not been thrown off completely.

Look at the GOP hold on power this way: if/when they lose majority and control of the institutions of government, Democrats will have outlasted and defeated almost everything they have. Republicans have no recovery then- they will have used up every favor, every ability, every excuse, every advantage, all their competent manpower and money, to keep themselves in office. There will be nothing left.

So you're underestimating the danger to Republicans- they have to risk everything to survive, as they've done for a couple of elections now.

The latest generic vote polls, from RT Strategies (Charlie Cook's outfit, everyone's independent Beltway elections prognosticator this year) have Democrats hitting a new high of 59% support and Republicans stuck at 37%. Those are Abandon Ship numbers.

I don't know what pessimism or paranoia do for you, but I'd say they're now warranted.

14. Democrats should leave the gutter to Karl Rove and his minions
and rely on hard work and the truth. Let Bush supporters cheer over outsourced jobs, secret torture planes, the horror in Iraq and the loss of their rights. Democrats are on the right side of this one whether we win or not.

But we can fight back without going into the gutter. Overconfidence (see above) and an unwillingness to insist on application of long established laws, rules, and regulations is the real danger right now.

33. bully ethics and prom queen politics
Man I so want to believe this. This country operates on bully ethics and prom queen politics. It is not about who is right, it is about who is better at convincing the lowest common denominator what is right. The majority fo this country feeds at Burger King and watchs fake wrestling - the dems need a serious 24 hour makover.

20. There's only one way this "thing" will slip away: voting fraud.
In 2004 we were fed the "polls were wrong" story. The polls can be wrong only so many times. Everyone knows it's BS, everyone's watching for dirty tricks, everyone assumes the machines are rigged. If they come out on top despite the polls, it won't be a mystery why and we won't sit by and let them steal it again.

of a sort. Because this WAVE is REAL. Period. It's here, and it is REAL.

The people are definitely making their true feelings known, and their true feelings are NOT sympathetic to the republican crime machine. And even if democrats don't quite take either house of congress, this wave is a FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH and it is NOT GOING AWAY.
