Bush cut and ran from Saudi Arabia in 2003, as per Bin Ladens demands/instructions. That was Bin Ladens biggest beef with the US, that we vacate the base we built there during the gulf war.

Chicago Tribune April 30, 2003:

Military to leave Saudi Arabia
U.S. moving amid strained relations

Marking the end of an era, the United States will soon withdraw about 7,000 U.S. military personnel from Saudi Arabia and terminate a significant military presence there that lasted more than a decade, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld announced Tuesday.

After the war, about 4,000 uniformed Americans--mostly Air Force members--stayed in Saudi Arabia as part of the no-fly patrol operations, and as a check against further Iraqi offensives. However, they became a rallying point for Muslim fundamentalists, who charged the U.S. was trying to increase its influence over the Saudi royal family and the nation's oil reserves.

The pullout from Saudi Arabia also occurs as Pentagon strategists consider broader redeployments and reductions in troop levels overseas. The Army alone has 328,900 troops in 120 countries.

This should be mentioned every time the sock puppets say, "We haven't been hit in five years."
Why this isn't common knowledge to everyone is beyond me. This was Bin Ladens biggest beef with the US.

1. Thank you this has been an overlooked point for 5 years
I have been saying for five years that bush met bin laden's demands after 911.

It should be repeated loud and often when he brags about being "tough on terror"

2. Deal....or no deal?
1. Osama bin Laden issues a fatwa against the US for occupying their country and 'two holy sites'.
2. America is attacked by mostly Saudi Arabians.
3. Bush pulls troops out of Saudi Arabia.
4. Bush states he is 'not that concerned about Osama bin Laden'.
5. Bush attacks Iraq, linking 9/11 to Iraq.
6. Bush closes CIA unit looking for bin Laden.
