even though Cheney will have the tie-breaker. Republicans will not be the same lemmings after this election because many of them will be on the chopping block 2 years from now. Their every vote will have that reality riding their conscience. Many Repubs will side with Democrats on many issues, I would bet. George Bush will no longer have a "rubber-stamp" Senate. Therefore, if we get 50 votes, or even 49 votes in the Senate, it will be a much different place because of this election.

12. Hopefully, Snowe will pull a Jeffords....
I can't picture Olympia putting a "D" after her name, but if the GOP leadership pisses her off, she may just replace her "R" with an "I"...

3. I agree
Specter, Collins, and Snowe will feel real pressure to actually be bipartisan. Additionally, in 2008, we have very good prospects for pickups in Oregon, Colorado, New Mexico (assuming Dominici retires), Minnesota, Virginia (if Warner retires), New Hampshire, and Maine. The GOP's best bets are Montana, South Dakota, Iowa, Arkansas, and Louisiana, which IMHO, will be a lot harder for them.

5. Iowa a target?
Sen. Harkin is loved here ... my hope is that some other republican congressman (Steve King preferably) takes on Harkin ... I think Harkin has taken out 5 republican congressman along the way. It would be nice to see him dispose of Congressman King (R- wingnut Western Iowa)

7. I don't think hey can beat Harkin
But the I think some GOP strategists might think, "well Grassley's loved and we won in 2004, we're sure to beat Harkin." Nonsense I agree, but they'll try to make Iowa a battleground.

8. Grassley has been there too long..
He has promoted the lies of this Administration. He should be challenged.

9. I think he should have been too
but where was the DSCC in 2004? I am actually convinced that the lack of a credible challenge to Grassley cost us Iowa...
