I'm afraid Senator Kerry was wrong in his education comments
He said if you "study hard," "do your homework," "make an effort to be smart," you'll be okay. "If not you get stuck in Iraq."

There are lots of people in this country with rocks in their heads, who make no effort to better themselves, whether it is by picking up a book and studying or by bathing regularly; who make no effort to "be smart" and have never served their country in any way and who will not get stuck in Irag UNLESS OF COURSE THERE IS A DRAFT. You can find those people at free republic and focus on the family.

Did I mention the Draft? If a republican senator seriously brings up the subject of the draft, (necessary to support the war conservatives so love) bush's base will shrivel up to the size of the pencil dick limply hanging twixt the hamhock thighs of a right wing radio comedian.

16. You are entitled to your opinion. Did I miss the re-institution of the
draft in this country? Your post makes no sense, I think you meant to say "wasn't" in your last sentence. Do you usually post on other boards? Gotta love those troops.

17. He was talking about Bush -
it was unambiguous in his prepared text. He has cared for the troops for over 35 years

19. He was talking about Bush and NOT the troops....it's part of a stump speech...
....he simply mangled it a tiny bit and the repuklicans jumped all over it....

And then Senator Kerry beat the ever-loving shit out of them with their own cowardice...

4. My post was rather
tongue in cheek. Senator Kerry was describing bush and cheney to a tee. Per Iraq, they did not study, did not get smart, did not educate themselves and now THEY are stuck there.

I will vote and support with gusto whomever the democratic party nominates in 2008.

6. He Was Talking about BUSH>LOL
He Was Talking about BUSH>LOL

as per usual...........people got the shit mixed up.

and in part its the truth that people enlist because they can't find a JOB that pays well........and the military is offering thousands to join........

also ones with a higher education can't find JOBS here.because they are all being sent overseas.....

also.........some military men are in Iraq...reguardless of education.......because their National Guard Units were called out.....and like a back door draft they had no choice..........

Not everyone is like the BUSH family....were one can sit in Texas and just lift his arm to his mouth in a bar and not worry about how VietNam is going!!!!!!!!

7. He said this about George Bush, not the troops
Don't buy the spin. You know the Rethugs lie.

There is a Presser at 2:00. Kerry did not insult the troops, and you know that if the RWers could pull something out of context, they will.

If it wasn't this, it would be something else.

I see Michelle Malkin is now writing Kerry on his blog, calling for him to do something. You can't be all bad if that troll comes a calling. However, you do know that it's a deliberate smear job and it should not be allowed to succeed.

9. Post four please
I know what the Senator was chatting about. I don't like using the sarcasm sign because if it is done right one does not need the sign, but apparently I failed. However my original post was pretty handy I believe.

10. He is Correct
Poverty and the lack of opportunity force people to join the military to get an education and training. Of course it is different for people who make a career out of the military.

11. I believe Kerry did screw up
Many times when he tries to insult the Republicans, he ends up insulting someone else. I know he was trying to insult Bush, but the words ended up insulting military personnel.

Kerry needs to think a little bit more during his speeches whenever he references the military.

20. Yeah
What would someone with three Purple Hearts know about the military or combat or any of that stuff? We really need to pay attention to folks like President Deserter and Vice President Five Deferments.

13. That Kerry would even say something ambiguous is stupid
This is the time for PLAIN TALK, people. Seven days out from the election. Kerry says he was talking about Bush? Great! But do it DIRECTLY, John! Don't say something that can be misinterpreted. Make it plain enough for a third grader to understand. Don't leave yourself open to misinterpretation. DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT.

15. MSNBC said that Bush will be using Kerry's comments tonight...
I'm telling you -- they are spinning the HELL out of this.

Kerry said he "botched" what he meant to say, and I know that he did --- but the media is saying that a week out, a botch is a gift from God.

...and it'll serve no useful purpose...

24. According to MSNBC & CNN, they'll be airing Bush's comments live..
I don't do Faux, so I have no idea if they're covering this b.s... but if it's non-stop news on the other two networks (and it is) .. I can only imagine Faux is reporting on it too?

I only hope that they give Kerry equal time.

25. I just think...
It will give them some ammo one week before election day. Whether his statement was right or wrong they will spin it to no end, and that will not help us in a week. We have them on the run and do not want to give them ANYTHING to use against us.
