Let's show our support for Senator John Kerry

We're angry and we're NOT going to take it anymore.

They want a war, let's show them that there are two kinds of wars: the kind of war where innocent lives are taken and the war of truth. Let's show the bastards that we Democrats, Liberals and Progressives are warriors for TRUTH. We won't take their lies and distortions any longer.

Senator Kerry spoke for us in this press conference today! Thank you, Senator. Eff Bush and the rest of the lying bastards!

We do need to have his back on this. And more to the point, we need to show them that they can't bully any Democrat in this manner.

I'm proud of Senator Kerry and I'm equally disgusted by the pundits and the Republicans. Democrats need to follow Kerry's example and stand up and shout these liars down. We need to win this fight and we need to drive them back into the slimy holes they crawled out of.

5. The pundits are even worse.

CNN: the Cafferty File just attacked Kerry and said he's a loser and said he basically no right to say anything, that he should just shut up and go away. Hell, this even shocked Blitzer who said, "He's a United States Senator." Cafferty said something to the effect that he wouldn't be for long. FUCK Cafferty.

The pundits need a good ass-kicking. Their Republican slip is showing.

Dear Senator Kerry,

I know you’re getting dumped on for your alleged “gaffe” but thank you so much for (1) telling the truth in the first place and (2) not backing down. This opens up an opportunity for impassioned and honest dialogue about the LAST thing in the world Republicans want to talk about right now – the shamefully botched war (both Iraq and Afghanistan) and the blood on their hands and the lack of a coherent policy to prevent further tragedy and disaster.

It makes me so sad and angry to see the whipped-dog mentality we Democrats have had over the last few terrible years. I remember not so long ago my own Senator Dick Durbin was talking about Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo and torture on the Senate floor, and he linked it to other historical atrocities caused by fear and unreasoning rage and lack of human empathy and rational thought – and he was hounded into apologizing for it, though I feel strongly that he, like you, simply told the truth.

We need to stop apologizing for telling the truth, even if it isn’t worded flawlessly and focus-group-tested or hurts somebody’s feelings or might possibly theoretically alienate some hypothetical “undecided” on some shaky poll out there somewhere. Truth is what this country is starving for. Thank you so much for the meal. It was delicious, and I feel like I have more energy for fighting now.
