If Kerry had said this in July or August, then barely a peep. Maybe Rush or Insannity would've said something....but it would have no legs.
Now, it's October 31st, the repugs are down and out in the polls and are desperately looking for ANY little morsel to pounce on. Any little tiny molehill to make into a mountain. Look how desperate they are, even Bush is demanding an apology...so much for always appearing above the fray and presidential.
They are desperate.
and yes it does sound like a joke, a bad one and kerry should have just kept his mouth shut. Right now we should just be taking a knee in turns of tough rhetoric and not throwing hail mary's. Even though I don't think this will hurt us, why chance it. Let's get the vote out, don't give them even a shred to attack us on.
my strategy for now is close ranks around Kerry, sling mud back...let's face it they're not going to gain any ground on the issue of "Kerry was mean to the troops".
it's amazing how coordinated they are though.
The Webb book thing seemed more damaging, but that "uproar" died in less than 48 hours. Now this Kerry comment went from nothing this morning, to Bush howling about it, trickling down to Insannity, Drudge, and all the other minions.
we'll see what a big deal it really is....
