Your view ...... is Russ Feingold growing into the role now unfilled of Paul Wellstone?
I continue to miss Paul Wellstone's voice in the Senate.
In recent days and weeks, it suddenly occured to me that maybe his voice is being replaced by that of Russ Feingold. No, the two men are not the same and I'm not suggesting they are. But Feingold does seem to be fulfilling the role once so wonderfully played by Wellstone.
and he was unique, as are some other great Senators who we're lucky to have. And as for fire in the belly, Bernie Sanders has tons of it, and the brains and guts to back it up.
6. Wellstone was great at working others in the senate - Feingold is still learning that, though
I must say that he has been improving in the past year, and it bodes well for what he can do in the future. It's one thing to be a thornintheside maverick, and another to be someone who works with others to realize maverick and needed reforms and legislation.
8. His excellent comments last nite on KO about leaving Iraq.
Saying the ISG report was flawed from the start because only pro-warriors were on the panel; all the no war questions weren't asked to begin with. He was very secure in articulating his understanding of the issues.
