Should I refuse to support a candidate who supports gay rights

because he sleeps with a lot of women. After all he is obstentatiously straight, greedily straight. How can he possibly know what it is like to be gay? It would be almost as silly as a poor person supporting Edwards despite his wealth.

Tell me you're kidding. Why would it matter. That's like saying I can't vote for a man who supports womens rights because he sleeps with women and he can't possibly know what it's like to be a female.

I might question his judgment though if he's married and sleeps around. That would probably make me look to find someone with better integrity.
