I just happened to see on teevee the 'IED-like devices' that had Boston going nuts.

Are these people fucking nuts?????

Now .... I don't know what an IED looks like. But what I saw on teevee looks pretty much like what it was supposed to be. An LED display arranged to look like a silly cartoonish face.

Okay .... so .... before looking closely, and only seeing blinking lights up high on some structures, the notion of an IED **might** be understandable. But after they yank these things down and see what they are, why was no one laughing?

And why in hell are they putting the two young men who hung them through an arraignment hearing?

This is the stupidest fucking thing yet.

Okay .... the city overreacted. The media went into AutoFrenzy mode.

But now they arrest these two guys?

For fucking WHAT??????????????????

Give me a goddammed break.

and made bigger assholes of themselves at their press conference, talking about hair. But, I don't see why they are criminally liable for anything.

Media talking heads keep calling it a "hoax," which it would be if people were supposed to think the boxes were bombs. If that were the case and if this guys were doing it on their own, then they would, IMO, be criminals. But, it seems to me to be a "stunt" rather than a "hoax" and these two dopes weren't in charge of it. The Cartoon Network is responsible and should pay Boston's police overtime bill. But nobody should have been arrested, including these idiots.
