1. Ok, I called fat
old Stabenow's office and the lady took the message that I wanted the war stopped, I wanted our boys and girls home and I wanted $$ money being spent to go to Katrina...and if she didn't vote correctly, she could find a job with the rest of the Michigan economy next time working at an Exxon Station, MacDonalds, Walmart and 7/11 if she insists on maintaining her present standard of living.

She said she'd give her the message. I said, "good, becuase I hope she GETS the message from her constituency and votes the way the PEOPLE who voted HER in EXPECT her to vote."

For what it's worth, she's as useless as a 3 legged horse (no offense to the late great Barbero)

2. wild guess about the problem

i have no idea how DU's forum software works but this is what i think is happening that's causing so many dupe threads today.

when you make a post, it submits the post to a table in a database that is used to build the thread index (original post) or reply index (replies to an existing thread). it also posts a cross-reference to your post in a database table that supports the "my du" function.

i think the error we sometimes are getting is NOT occurring on the post to the main thread index but is occurring on the secondary post to the "my DU" table.

the best way to avoid dupes is to refresh your browser and determine whether your post made it to the thread index (or as a reply inside a thread). it probably will not show up in "my DU" until the bug is fixed.

just a theory ...
