The candidate I'll vote for:
THE FIRST ONE THAT STANDS UP - CALLS BUSH AND CHENEY LYING SACKS OF SH*T AND INTRODUCES ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT.

I can dream can't I? Who knows, maybe pigs will fly...

1. You'll be lucky to be able to vote for a candidate who openly opposes the war.

Impeachment is the only way to go.

3. A Candidate Worth Voting For
The anti-war, pro-impeachment candidate you speak of is already out there. His name is Ralph Nader. There are literally thousands of candidates you can vote for that are not spineless and/or corporate-sponsored, you just need to look outside the two-party structure to find them.

4. Dennis Kucinich is also anti-war and pro-impeachment
And understands that in a two party system, if you split the left of center vote you wind up with a Republican in office.

And welcome to DU

5. While I have great respect for Kucinich,
While i have great respect for Kucinich, the Democratic party's process involves him only until March or so when the Democratic frontrunners have been decided. At that point, any voice Kucinh may have had is gone, his media attention all dried up. All the other "fringe" candidates are also rendered irrelevant. This means no substantive issues discussed for the rest of the campaign.

Only a third party candidate can even hope to get a tiny glimmer of media coverage after the primaries are over. Look how Kucinich rolled over last time after Dean submarined him. There's no strength in that strategy.

Nader never spilt any vote and he never got a Republican elected to office, either. EVERY third party candidate had over 550 votes in Florida in 2000. I believe there were seven candidates who "spoiled". No ONE of them is responsible for Gore's idiotic and ill-handled campaign or his unwillingness to fight for the office he had so obviously won. The only reason Nader has suffered the brunt of all of the "spoiler" propaganda is that he has publicly admitted to seeing little difference between the two major parties and has based this assessment on their shared corporate sponsorship, something neither party wants anyone to talk about publicly.

And .... thank you for welcoming me. Good to be here.

6. I'm not interested in third-party candidates until we have better public financing laws.

Until then, the Democrat will always be closer to my beliefs than the Republican, and have a greater chance at putting a few of them into practice than the third-partyer.

If third party candidates think they have enough support to win in the general election, then they should run in the Democratic primary, so they can pick up the straight Democratic ticket voters.

Also, welcome to DU!
