Disappointing that Dem candidates validate RW and GOP talking points against Democrats.
Guess what - Dems have NEVER BEEN weak on defense and weak on terror. No candidate should act like they are different from past nominees or in their party in that regard.

Guess what - Dems have NEVER been weak on values and indifferent to religious values. No candidate should act like they are different from past nominees or in their party in that regard.

Just because the Corporate media has beaten Democrats up over the years with RW tallking points they have turned into public perception, doesn't mean the candidates need to validate those lies.

It is called reifying - accepting the spin against Dems and repeating it in the hopes that you will be viewed as apart from your party on that issue.

Some of the Dem candidates speaking today are 'reifying' and reifying is ALWAYS wrong.

FIGHT the RW lie machine - do not VALIDATE it and do not PANDER to it.

1. The "weak on defense" meme...
IMO, the only way we can turn this country around is by getting control of military spending...

While spending more money on defense than all other countries combined, 9/11 happened. What's the solution? Spend more money on defense? If not, if it can mean stop spending on SOME military things, which ones? Anyone?

See how that works?

The problem isn't terrorism. Terrorism is a gnat on our ass.

While we pay off the Iraq debt, we WILL be reducing military spending, (we HAVE to).

We have to look this in the eye (along with the values meme) and learn how to address it like intelligent people.

10. Even George Will admitted last year terrorism is a law-enforcement issue.
Too many Dems have sided with Gorge Bush unquestioningly on the terror issue for far too long.

3. It's really time Democrats speak out against the LIES insteaf of validating that which
they KNOW to be untrue.

9. It was annoying to hear it. Reifying is now a HABIT with too many Democrats.

7. Sometimes it seems we are our own worst enemy. The Repubs just have to
sit on the sidelines and watch the show.

8. The GOP's grip on power for so long was BECAUSE they stay loyal to each other
no matter what.

GOPs treated Mark Foley with more dignity than the way Dem insiders treated and trashed Gore and Kerry.
