GOP caller to Malloy's show: Why do you want clean elections? You're going to win
Jason from Denver called Brad (of bradblog) who was hosting for Mike tonight and discussing clean elections. Jason calls up and IDs himself as a winger. Then he says, "Why are you so worried about cleaning up the elections? You're going to win the WH in a landslide next year anyway. Why do you care if we have fair elections?

Thank God there's fewer of them every day.

1. Wow, that's depressing.
Now there is a citizen who doesn't understand that fair elections are the right thing to do regardless of whose partisan advantage it is too.

2. They really don't get it, do they?
They don't understand that it's all about democracy and the Constitution, etc. To them, it is all about who can afford the most power and run the mafia currently controlling the WH.

We really have to force the Rethug party into the same route followed by the Whig party...oblivion.

6. What has happened to our educational system in the US?
I hear more and more garbage from recent HS grads, even kids in college (yeah, I'm allowed the "kid" thing, mine is 25 and is a "kid") -

They don't learn history, they don't learn the Bill of Rights, they don't learn the Constitution, they don't have civics (rememember 'em) classes -

Half of them (or more) don't even know the reasons for, and behind, WWII, Korea, Vietnam.

Ignorance leads to neocon-ism, Rushism, Hannityism, etc. Just plain ignorance.

I don't (never have) minded an INTELLIGENT Republican, but it seems they are a very scarce commodity since the neocons and "religious" (HAH) right took over.

Anyone remember Eisenhauer? Even Nixon was intelligent and understood that, yes, THE PEOPLE ARE TO BE SERVED, and not well-done, either.

7. Hard Truth for Conservatives...
...The GOP and many conservatives are now beginning to realize they shouldn't have blindly followed Bush for nearly as long as they did. It's becoming ever apparent that Bush is going to do whatever he wants no matter who is with him and who he brings down with him!! That includes the GOP (which is now fracturing), the Congress (which is now lost to the Dems), and quite possibly the 2008 Presidency. It's a stark reminder when your supposed top 2 contenders are social liberals (especially Guiliani), and everyone else has little support whatsoever. So far, the GOP Presidential field is looking very bland, ho-hum, and un-inspired. While with the Dems, you have two strong candidates (one is a woman and the other is an African-American). This is driving the media crazy at the possibility of 2008 being historical, and it's simply outshining anything Conservatives can muster up.

The GOP is also fracturing at the wrong time. People are beginning to see the fault in their actions, and are jumping the Bush ship in record numbers (dramatic explanation...I know). The scare tactics aren't working anymore, and the fearmongering and hatemongering is being heavily fought against (see the Obama/Madrassa incident). It's about time people got tired of the McCarthy-esque tactics of Cheney and Rove!! So I don't blame a conservative caller saying we'll win in 2008. Just look at the crossover appeal Barack Obama has right now!!!

9. I can't wait until the GOP eventually splits

This country needs a worthy Conservative party and not this cadre of brain dead WWF reject losers.
