Which Western State Governor would fit as VP in a Gore Run for Presidency?
Edited on Sat Feb-03-07 09:25 PM by KoKo01
Who is the Most Qualified without any Sex/Gropinator/Divorces or other scandels under their Belt?

Anyone have any possibilities? I'm an East Coaster...but I'm thinking that if Gore Runs he will choose (if he's learned anything from past experience) a WESTERN GOVERNOR!

Who, though? Who would FIT WELL with Al Gore?

6. Might be a good match since Govenor's are better than Senators?
According to "political theorists." :eyes: who knows

3. I'd say good options for Gore are Richardson, Sebelius, or Obama.
He has the experience, etc. so he can go for breaking a barrier with any of those three.

I think they would all be great choices and give a sense of progress and excitement to the ticket.

7. I understand that, Mr. Magistrate...but there's strong speculation out there
and so it seemed that maybe getting ahead of the pundits we could "speculate" on the most excellent VP Choice for him.

16. This One Coming Up, Ma'am
Is not quite the usual campaign cycle. It is shaped by the popular eagerness to see the present administration ended. This gives a premium to early declarations, and the major declared candidates over the next year or so will be viewed almost as members of a "shadow cabinet" in the English system. They will gain such a predominance in cash and prestige as to choke off the prospects of any late declarations. On the Democratic side, eople who are not in it already are not going to be in it at all.

8. Gov. Richardson is impressive.
I tuned in to his speech at the DNC meeting. I agreed with everything he said. He has tons of experience and is well known to Gore (though I have no idea what kind of rapport they may have)>

9. Why would Gore want the Presidency?
He already won it once and has more respect now than most if any of the previous office holders save possibly Lincoln, FDR, Truman and John Kennedy. The guy is up for a Nobel Prize which I support. If I were Al Gore, I would say no to any draft though I would surely vote for him if he ran (though again, I can't imagine why he would. If I were him, I wouldn't. Guess I'm just not that much of a patriot.).

12. Never heard of him...but he sounds interesting...
and maybe he'd fit with Gore. Is he a "Populist" ...someone who talks like John Edwards does about "Two Americas?"

11. Remains to be seen if Gore jumps in. If he does, and wins the
nomination, I think he should choose Schweitzer if your Western governor theory bears out.

But I think he should rock the boat and put Bill Moyers on the ticket.

Moyers is a Democrat, a Texan, a certified Baptist minister, a veteran of the Johnson administration, invincible in a debate, and has the best ear for the media of anybody I can think of.

Gore / Moyers.

14. I was kind of thinking Schweitzer...but does he have skeletons in
his basement? Divorced, likes to grope, drug use...anything that the Repugs would go after him on?

15. Well, he's never groped me.
I don't think he does have any skeletons in the basement. And I think Montanans seem to like him a lot.

Montana Democrats are getting it done these days, aren't they?

Schweitzer's stock is real high in my thinking. It wouldn't bother me one bit to see him on our ticket in 08.

18. Love to see Moyers appointed as head of the FCC!
That would be an interesting one! So many good folks could be brought into a Gore Presidency and serve where they could really make a difference and not just be political hacks paying back favors. At least one can dream of the possibilities and maybe the dreams can work into reality with some strong effort.

21. Hi, KoKo01. There are so many great Democrats out there who
would be such VAST improvements over the HACKS Bush has in there now...

I tell ya, let's hold the Iowa caucus this Tuesday -- at the latest. How does that sound?

22. It's Too SOON...we are just still in the "Discovery Phase" of how
the American People are waking up to the Lies, Deceit and Trashing of their Constitution. Too many folks still might think Bill Clinton was better than Bush so we just need to "go back two steps." I used to like Bill Clinton...I used to think the DLC was a GOOD THING. I'm not that same person I was back when I was defending "THE CLINTONS." I changed after 2000 Selection and my road to "Waking Up" took years. So many Americans think they can push a "button early" and the Bush Nightmare will be over...but, it will only be swept under the bed to come out and jump on us once again when we "go to sleep" and think we won't have Nightmares. :-(
