Biden’s Aborted Blastoff: Requiem for a Bozo
Joe Biden is a dumbfuck.

He proved it the other day when he kicked off his campaign for presidunce like this:

New York | Sen. Joe Biden spent his first day as an official presidential candidate explaining why he had described Democratic rival Sen. Barack Obama as "clean," and why he had dissed Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and John Edwards.

And he proved it before, back in 1987:

In a recent (Biden) speech in California, three whole paragraphs were almost identical, in both language and intonation, to a speech Robert Kennedy made in Iowa in 1968.

(Biden's) use of (British Labor Party leader Neil) Kinnock's speech was also lengthy, and apparently incorrect. Kinnock, whose forebears were Welsh coal miners, said his ancestors would "work eight hours underground and then come up and play football." Biden spoke of his "ancestors who worked in the coal mines of northeast Pennsylvania and would come up after 12 hours and play football."

Stop, Joe, you’re killing me!

Several days later it developed that a law professor had busted Biden during his first year of law school for copying without attribution five pages of an article and putting it into a 15-page paper he was writing.

Biden pleaded ignorance to academic convention and told reporters, "I've done some dumb things and I'll do some dumb things again."

Fuckin’ A.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

16. 'deed I do, Ma'am!
Her name is Autumn (a benign little name, cuz she showed up on a gorgeous October day) and she is mad as a hatter. She, at eight years old, still comes in out of the cold and chases her tail in the bathtub!

And she looks EXACTLY like yours, by the way . . . and great photo!:hi:

What's his/her name?

That about says it all. He's a wonderful boy, he will be 7 in May. He's not crazy at all, just saucier than the devil. Quite a personality. I really love orange tabbies, aren't they THE BEST?

18. Loves me some PDQ Bach, I do...
Professor Peter Schickele is a bloody GENIUS.:thumbsup:
Ever really listen to the PDQ Bach stuff? Funny as hell, but there is some serious TALENT involved in putting it together.
:wow:

The christmas carols...O Little Town of Hackensack, Good King Kong, and Throw the Yule Log On Uncle John are classic.
All done a cappella and the harmonies are exquisite.
It's easy to overlook that because the songs are so damn funny.

I'm going to go put on the Missa Hilarious now.

21. years ago . . .
. . . two girls, my brother and I, sang the christmas carols as entertainment for a party at a very cool Methodist church. (No Bushes in attendance.) "Throw the Yule Log on Uncle John" is about the funniest thing ever written! And indeed, the musicianship behind all the silliness is top-notch. :)

8. I guess he needed to be wealthier and hire a speech writer

If I am a rich candidate and hire a speech writer, I don't have to attribute my words to the speech writer. I can let everyone think they are my own.

Should we attribute JFK's "Ich bin ein Berliner" to JFK or the guy who wrote it ? Just one more way having a personal fortune helps in the world of politics.

Money can minimize risk.

On Biden's Obama comment, I have been thinking that someone might compile a list of words and phrases that are polically suicidal. In fact if it were addressed to a wider audience (business world maybe) such a book might be salable. Is there anything out there?

One of the things I don't like about Biden is his ties to the credit card industry (Delaware major employer) ; one of the things I like about him is the fact that he can say he screwed up and then keep trying.

11. The picture of him stumbling right out of the gate is pretty funny.
I thought he handled it pretty well by not canceling any interviews; I'll give him that. I wish we had a pre-primary to dispense with some of the clutter though, he being someone I wouldn't mind being swept out the door. I'm sick of looking at his hair plugs on tee-vee.

12. I think to much has been made of this. Biden has a lot to offer
in debate and on foreign policy issues. I think his presence is needed in the race. I don't support him, but I don't like this process of elimination.

13. Biden has been known to have some good things to say.

I don't support him, either, but it's tiresome the way the media attack Dems for their gaffes and give GOPers a free pass on everything.

15. Biden had no chance of becoming president.
I really think he was 'running' for Secretary of State in Clinton's cabinet. I think that off the table now.
