I'm not sure how to say this
but I guess I'll just blurt it out: I love John Edwards. In the words of the famous poet Homer (the fat one not the blind one) "I'm not gay but I'll learn."

3. #1 on my list today
universal Health Care. I have more thoughts on why he's great but I'll leave those for another day. What I will say is that Barak really doesn't have a shot at winning. You know when old Chimpy won this last time around everyone said, "how the hell did he win? I don't know anyone that voted for him!" Well I live in Nebraska and I know where all those voters are and sadly he doesn't stand a chance. But I would piss myself if a Edwards/Obama ticket was announced.

Hilary is a great politician but for some reason women don't seem to like her. My wife (and almost every other woman I know) said that she just isn't very endearing to women. "Basically she comes off as a bitch." I said, "would you rather have the first female president be a bubbly jessica simpson like parody or would want someone who rubs you the wrong way but is a brilliant politician in charge of the largest nuclear stockpile of weapons on the planet?"

So to not really answer your question, this is why these two won't win (sadly) and why John Edwards is the best bet in my opinion.

4. I have supported him for some time
However, I have to tell you I was crestfallen when I read his new health care proposal. It's weak and it attacks the problem from exactly the wrong direction. Don't misunderstand, I still support him and am NOT here to rain on your parade (Those folks will arrive soon enough, I swear they can SMELL an Edwards thread). His attention to the issues of poverty and the disparity between the rich and poor are very refreshing.

7. I think the plan has promise
His plan would obviously go through some retooling when hes president but it shows promise. It addresses the largest problem and doesn't touch the others such as research and the pharmaceutical monopoly. The point is that the nation needs Universal Health Care. Regardless of what package it is first shown in we need it now and there is no reason why we America the greatest superpower in the world can't have health coverage for our poor citizens.

5. Caught him on Press the Meat Sunday and
I must say that I am warming up to him (i.e., his proposals if elected). He hasn't the experience I'd like to see in a candidate, but who am I to say?

9. You should have your own online 'Late Nite Show'...
and that's a compliment! :yourock:

I almost sprayed on the monitor w/ "door #2 Bob".

I should clarify--John Edwards is our former Senator, and I supported him while he repped NC. I am Dem thru & thru, and will vote for the Dem nominee whomever it is. I am still in dreamland hoping that Al will consider going for it.

(While I got ya, please forgive me for not responding to one of yer posts w/ delightful smilies a few weeks ago. The thread got archived. I got some cool ones provided by our ISP, but I'm too lazy to figure out how ta do 'em.)

11. He's Got My Vote...
...but I would like to see Clark and/or Gore enter the race. I think that this is the only way to stop the Clinton/Obama Juggernaut.
