Michael Savage explores a presidential bid
by: pam
Mon Feb 05, 2007 at 22:30:00 PM EST

In what can only be described as a surreal news day -- with the unbelievable homophobic Snickers ad dustup, Ted Haggard studying to be a therapist, and Ralph Nader mulling another spoiler bid, here is the capper for the night. (Newsmax):

Michael Savage, the nation's third-most listened to radio talk-show host, says he may leave his top rated show to make a bid for the GOP nomination for president.

"I know it sounds bizarre but when you consider the people running for the presidency, none . . . seems to be qualified," Savage told NewsMax in an exclusive interview.

...Savage, with his loyal listenership, says he can play an important role in the Republican primaries, gain critical support, and add to the planned debates. "I would think that somebody who's not a politician might be a viable candidate," Savage stated, stressing that he would focus his campaign on his mantra: "Borders, language, Culture."

...On the now red hot issue of global warming, Savage was equally savage. "It is the biggest hoax of out lifetimes," he charged. "It is being promulgated by people who want to control the industrialized West without firing a shot." He explained that he is the only radio host "with an actual Ph.D. in a real science from a great university."

19. Priceless! One of the best satirical attacks I've EVER read. Probably,
the best. That guy must have a razor-sharp mind, not speak of his sense of humour. Some of the other calls were great too.

5. Why can't he just stick to ROCKSTARS!
He could drink them till he was so amped, he could rationalize changing his name to Savage!!! Michael Savage was born Michael Alan Weiner in New York City and is a Russian Jew.

Russell Goldencloud Weiner, Savage's son, is the founder and CEO of Rockstar Inc.

I'm not to found of those toxic drinks, but just knowing that Savage has something to do with them makes it even less appealing to me.

14. "he may leave his top rated show"
How could this be anything other than good news....

I have never listened to that garbage- but from what I understand, it's yet another of the many poster children for media re-regulation.

17. Ok, fellow citizens of what used to be the US
Let's encourage this twit to run. And, make it look sincere. If he gets enough
positive feedback from Republics/Conservatives, he may actually do it. We will
get a twofer. He will be off the airwaves, and would further split the Repubs.

22. I am not anxious to see Savage make a run..
This guy has no fear of being politically incorrect.
He may attract a lot of people out there who are sick
of politically correct politicians. I have listened to
him on occasions and I have to turn him off when it gets
on my nerves.

In the last hour and 10 minutes there has been 17,531 yes vs 67 no votes.

Either trhe Freeps really want him to run, or the joke is on Weiner.
