"I've always liked strong, macho men, and Rudy - I'm not saying this because he's my husband - is one of the smartest people on the planet," gushed the former Judith Nathan to Harper's Bazaar in editions due out Feb. 20.

"What people don't know is that Rudy's a very, very romantic guy. We love watching 'Sleepless in Seattle.' Can you imagine my big testosterone-factor husband doing that?"

Describing Rudy, a former federal prosecutor, as "the Energizer Bunny with no rechargeable batteries," Judi said, "One of the most remarkable things about my husband, who sleeps three or four hours a night, is his energy level and stamina.

"I truly believe that one of the keys to a successful marriage is not trying to change your partner: This is the person I fell in love with. And I married a man who loves to work, never takes time off, because if you like what you do, you won't need to.

"If he decides to run for president, we'll follow that path together," she told Harper's....

Experts Say It Could Lure Female Votes From Hillary

(CBS) NEW YORK It was an intimate glimpse into former mayor Rudy Giuliani's relationship with his wife Judith and it's also the picture that has New Yorkers talking: the cover of the New York Post featuring the happy couple intimately smooching. But is this the image of a presidential candidate that people want to see?

CBS 2 polled some passerby on the street this morning to see what their reaction was to the provocative picture, and not all of them had pleasant things to say....

Although Rudy has been happily married to Judi for years, there was still that pre-9/11 moment when the mayor revealed his second marriage to Donna Hanover was over, and he had been carrying on a romance with Judi, who was an Upper-East side divorcée at the time.

Hanover then threw Rudy out of Gracie Mansion and accused him of having an earlier affair....

But some political experts say the Harper's Bazaar pictures and interview with Judith is a good thing.

"It was a way of introducing her. She is on his web site, she is with him all the time and I think it lends a sense of who he's entering his journey with," Political Consultant Susan Delpercio said....

Some pundits think revealing that warm, fuzzy side of Rudy may help lure female voters from Hillary Clinton, if he makes his run official, that is.

The Kerik-grade Friend of Rudy may not be a household name yet, but it's not for lack of trying. Best known as Giuliani's mistress (that would be the one before Judi Nathan) while she worked as Rudy's Goebbels in City Hall, this little ladder-climbing she-monster alienated so many people that Rudy had to find her another gig. So he forced her upon the city's private tourism agency, "NYC & Co."—a position she was so unqualified for that even the pro-Rudy Crain's Business Weekly ran an editorial denouncing the appointment. She's one of the public faces behind the corporate selling off of much of the city, as well as the slimebag who put all those giant plastic banners you see on all the street lamps—free ads masquerading as "beautification." Now, to our nightly horror, she's even starring in the agency's ads herself, eating "NYC" brand cereal and trying hard to look a little less blank than what's in the bowl.

She has a daughter she never sees, I've read. I've noticed that all the recent photo spreads of Judi are gauzy glamour shots, many taken at a distance. She's really not all that attractive - obvious plastic surgery/augmentation and a distracting wandering eye that could make her vulnerable to some nasty stuff. And considering Repugs' disdain for Martha's Vineyard/Nantucket vacations, can you imagine "Summer White House at The Hamptons?"

4. It's going to take more

than Judith kissing him in a magazine to make that mug appealing or sexy to anyone. And it's not enough to stop the tsunami of bad press coverage about the Rudy we knew before 9/11. There's a lot of "there" there and not even ambitious, power-hungry, husband stealing (as she's known in NYC) Judith Nathan can divert attention from it.

But perhaps Harper's Bazaar (desperate for readership, I'm sure) should hear from us about this "coverage"?

girl with her first puppy love and she sounds so silly that if I were her I'd be embarrassed. Second, I hardly think female voters will be lured by Rudy's so called "warm, fuzzy side", created by his PR firm, and I would sure like to know which pundits think so.

Most of the bible-carrying women I work with already hate Hillary because she is for "killing babies" as one of them puts it. I think I will remind them all today that their Republican frontrunner is also Pro-choice and they had better vote third-party for Jerry Falwell or something.

I'm saving my copy. Rudy will regret it... my prediction:

His over-enthusiastic, preening First-lady- wannabe will end up being a huge liability for St. Rudy's presidential ambitions. As the sordid details of Rudy's unfaithfullness to the mother of his 2 kids trickles out into the mainstream, Judy the Oblivious will continue to gush about their romance, his manliness, etc. and will turn off a large segment of the female electorate, and certainly conservative voters.

I for one am looking forward to the tarnishing of Rudy's halo, and reputation. His business affilitations will be picked apart, he probably will not win at the end, and he will have damaged himself. I can't wait until the GOP smear machine starts in on Rudy.
