Richardson: Former Clinton donors backing him, vows to run clean campaign
Tribune: One of your opponents is, of course, Hillary Clinton, and you're close friends with her husband. Will that be awkward?

Richardson: Well, it is a little awkward. But I believe we've all been in politics a long time.

You know, I talked to President Clinton continuously throughout the various governors' races, and we never actually talked about it. The only time I said something to him, I said, "Mr. President, I'd like to come talk to you about some race in the future." He said, "Whatever you need, come by and see me." But that's the only time we kind of touched on it.

But I do know cases where he is calling individuals who he thought were supporting Sen. Clinton, and they're supporting me - and I'm sure there are a lot more supporting her than supporting me, so he hasn't had to make many calls.

He is helping her. He's competitive. I think as long as it stays clean, I'm staying clean in this campaign. I'm not attacking my opponents. I'm going to run a positive campaign.

1. I like is desire to avoid slinging mud at other dems
Which he talks about in his speech here:

I'd like for all of our candidates to focus their attacks on Repubs, not eachother. If I remember correctly, Dean was the one that started the whole Kerry-flip-flops thing. Regardless of wether it was accurate or not, it was picked up and used by Bush Inc a few months later.

There is no reason to give Repubs ammunition.

3.  Asking for harmony and let's get along...
and then bam, you must mention the primaries.

Now...about that war. You know which war I mean. Why shouldn't we analyze where the candidates got information? Or is it more important to relieve the old Kerry/Dean stuff? I would rather not go there but instead focus on the consultants who are STILL advising our candidates.

They are advising them mostly to go along with Bush's talk tough stance on Iran. Sound tough, be smart. War as a last resort and all that crap.

Consultants or someone is making our Democrats sound just as damn hawkish on Iran as they did on Iraq in 02 and 03. I heard Pelosi say they would keep Bush from going..but most of them just talk as tough as Bush.

And I think we really need to examine just where they got their info in 02 to vote for the invasion....because they damn well knew Bush was gonna do it.

The Kerry Dean stuff is long over...let's concentrate on who is advising them now before we get into another hopeless war. And it was waffles before flip flops FYI...so fair is fair.

stand on issues, whether in a primary or general election.

The Gipper's 11th Commandment was crap when it came to the Republican Party and is equally bad when applied to ours.

As an aside, does anyone know Richardson's position on the articles of impeachment before legislature in New Mexico? I trust he is supporting them. ???
