US House readies for marathon Iraq debate

by Charlotte Raab

1 hour, 2 minutes ago

WASHINGTON (AFP) - Democrats in the US House of Representatives readied
plans for a marathon debate over President George W. Bush's Iraq policy
just days after Republicans blocked a similar effort in the Senate.

Over three days from Monday, the Democrat-dominated House will take up
a non- binding resolution that rebukes Bush's new strategy to escalate
US troop levels in Iraq.

Leading Democrat Rahm Emanuel (news, bio, voting record) told reporters
that the double-barreled, non-binding bill will emphasize that "we continue
to support our troops that have been committed."

But Emanuel, chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, said the resolution
will firmly reject an increased US military presence in Iraq.

2. I'd love to see Jack Murtha verbally cut her down on the house floor.
Rule No 2: Patrick McHenry (R-NC) and Adam Putnam (R-FL) cannot whine anymore. I'm sick of them both. :grr:

3. I think the Dems are much better off, if she does talk.
She shows her ass so well.
