Clinton uses term Obama got in trouble for
Edited on Sun Feb-11-07 04:45 PM by Superman Returns
“We cannot be telling people what to do, we have to be moving them with carrots and sticks and a lot of coalition building,” Mrs. Clinton said. “I would say ‘I’m sorry, it’s over. We are not going to baby-sit a civil war."

Didn't Frank Luntz blast Obama for using the phrase "baby-sit a civil war" since it undermined the seriousness of the debate?

“We don’t have a lot of time to waste,” Mrs. Clinton said. “America will be back. We are going to shelve the cowboy mentality and get back to reaching out and working.”

Btw Senator Clinton, please don't refer to President Bush's diplomacy as "cowboy mentality." Americans like cowboys, and it gives Bush that undeserved Reaganesque-manly image. Its especially not ideal to use that language if your running as a woman candidate that wants to come of tough as well. Americans see the Iraq War as a disaster, even Republicans. But they don't like the image of a U.S. President sipping tea with the French. Repeat after me: Bush is not a cowboy, Bush is not a cowboy, Bush is not a cowboy...

1. I am not prepared to take issue with Hillary based on those select quotes
Taken out of context, and at face value, I fully agree with what Hillary said. However, knowing Hillary as I know her to be, I would read the entire speech knowing full well that she will take more than one side of an issue.

5. Hillary is well aware Bush is no more than a drug store cowboy..
Bush is afraid of horses but pretends he is acting as a ranch hand clearing brush in his free time.
Please! Even cowboys take umbrage as to Bush even entertaining the word 'cowboy' for his self-designation.

Cowboys are hard working. Little sleep, little pay for long hours packed with tons of responsibility.
But there is nobody better than them when you need a friend to stand by you in hard times.

8. Yeah, well it's her own fault.
She opened her mouth and said something, didn't she?

Of course if she said nothing, that would be sitting on her lead and would be wrong also.

Lots of prejudice in the threads these last few days.
