Olympia Snowe just made a speech in the
Senate that was the most comprehensive, clear, interesting one I have ever heard from the Senate floor. She is the best. I never have voted for a repuke but I would do so if I had the chance to vote for her. I only hope that some of the fence sitters heard her loud and clear. Unlike Warner who is so concerned about embarrassing bush she obviously didn't care. Hooray for her.

1. She also voted to filibuster the resolution condemning Iraq!
Republicans must be defeated everywhere. They are all the same.

2. There are things she has said that made me smile.
She began with drinking the koolaid, but has since changed her diet.

3. She has no biz being a Republican, but she disappointed me on some recent votes.
I'll have to catch the text of her comments.

4. A Maine Republican = a Georgia Democrat in a lot of ways...
I like the Senators from Maine. Certainly better people than the candidates the Democrats have offered up to oppose them.

5. I'll happily vote against her.
While she is reasonably moderate Republican, we need to contest every seat in the Senate.

We can do better. But we can do far worse, as well.

13. Wouldn't it better to encourage her to switch parties?
She can trade places with Leiberman! Hell, he wants to please thePubs more than the Dems anyway, and we'd be much better without him!

14. I written to her and Sue a few times to do this.
Trying to appeal to their sense of history and the role they can play in shaping it. Alas, no response.

18. She will never change parties
Don't let her occasional sanity fool you. She's a Republican and votes that way over 80% of the time.
