My rightwing co-workers are outraged by the Dixie Chicks

Living in Oklahoma is a trip. My right wing co-workers are all flipping out because the Dixie Chicks won five Grammy's. They insist that the Chicks had no right to be critical of Herr Boosh. I guess free speech doesn't extend to musicians? And as for those country music radio stations that still boycott the Dixie Chicks? They are nothing more than a bunch of musical Rush Limbaughs anyway - screw them!

Be careful what you wish for. THe RW made such a huge to do about trashing the Dixie Chicks. This is an example of what happens if the tide turns against you.

Real easy to beat up on some comment by Natalie when the wind is blowing your way (or at least you think it is). All the Freepers did was elevate them to icon status. Made them heroes for speaking out. I'd never even heard of the Dixie Chicks before this controversy.

Thank you Freepers. I have now heard of the Dixie Chicks and so has a whole lot more people. So now they are outraged. They who created the backlash that in turn created the groundswell of support. They are now more famous than they ever were. And Bush is still an embarrassment. :rofl:

If they do appear at a H. Clinton celebration, I have to believe that it will be a paid appearance because she has the corporate money to buy them.

I cannot support her because she cannot or will not come clean on her IWR vote. Until or if that ever happens she does not get my vote short of running as VP for Al Gore. (For that impossible scenerio, I'll make an exception.) All you Hillarystas must ask youself, "Why would Rupert Murchoch contribute to her campaign if she couldn't return in kind?"

That's just two strikes against her.

I think that my original response to your post was that you already narrowed down y/our choices. And then I imploded on the whole bogus argument of why are we even making these decisions now?

For me it's way too early to decide, although I do have some favorites as well as some lukewarm opportunists that I would spew from my mouth.

Franky, I don't have much faith in the Clinton dynasty. I base that on the Bush 1/Clinton 1 fake radio ads for Katrina victims. These are 2/4 backs that I don't want scratch each other.
