Inbred politicians don't come around every day of the week, ya know.

24. then find something significant to use in opposing him
The fact that he was briefly married to his second cousin isn't going to be an effective route of attack on him, particularly if it simply focuses attention on the fact that diverse, and successful people, including Einstein, FDR, and Charles Darwin all married cousins.

25. Rudy and his 2nd cousin were married for 14 years
and FDR and Eleanor were 5th cousins. However, I agree that this should not be the defining issue in the campaign.

5. How in the hell did I miss the Pat Roberson endorsing Guilliani! News is just flying by
too fast, these days.

But, it gets more palatable all the time.....Pat Roberson and Rudy are in some kind of mutual destruction pact. MKJ

10. Pat Robertson's Praise of Guiliani This Weekend
Pat Robertson: Giuliani Would Make Good Prez
>>
>>Christian Coalition founder Pat Robertson raised eyebrows on Sunday when he heaped praise on former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, saying he'd make "a good president" despite his liberal positions on gay rights and abortion.
>>
>>Asked if Giuliani would be an acceptable 2008 presidential candidate to Christian conservatives, Robertson told ABC's "This Week:" "He did a super job running the city of New York and I think he'd make a good president."
>>
>>"I like him a lot - although he doesn't share my particular point of view on social issues," Robertson explained, before calling the twice-divorced Giuliani "a very dedicated Catholic."
>>
>>Roberston noted that "Rudy's a very good friend of mine," adding, "He's a great guy."

Edited on Mon Feb-12-07 10:55 PM by LoZoccolo
Because he used to pump kin!

AH HA HA HA HA I SLAY ME!

Wait until every political message board and every Republican blog is repeatedly spammed with this one joke over and over again!

I would so love if Guiliani got the nomination!

15. Yes. While his wife, Donna Hanover, and their under-age son, were
still living there. BEFORE they got divorced. He wanted to move his paramour in there. Sleezy bastard.

Meantime, I heard Jonathan Alter on Al Franken's show today, and Alter said it was a temperament question that was going to come up about rudy - or SHOULD come up. Alter said he didn't think giuliani had the temperament to be president - a nasty temper and disposition, impulsive and explosive and - well, nasty. Just what we need as our face to the world on the heels of this current reign of terror. AND he was willing to suspend the New York City constitution so he could run a third time, in defiance of the laws (Alter said none other than john mccain talked him out of it). Wonder what he'd do as president if he felt so inclined? And haven't we already had more than enough of THAT, too???

Even without the warning from Jonathan Alter, I still find rudy MOST distasteful. And from what I understand from New Yorker friends, as of September 10th, the city was counting the seconds until they were rid of him. And 24 hours later, that was all long gone and forgotten. 9/11 changed everything - for him, too.

22. Giuliani thought that because of 9/11, he could postpone the mayoral election
(the one that would replace him) for at least 3 months. It was fortunately overruled.

17. Wow, all of a sudden I wouldn't mind seeing Rudy get the GOP nomination
I've been thinking for ages that Rudy Giuliani would be one of the most difficult repubs to defeat in the general election, now I'm finally starting to doubt that with this. Attack ads exposing his personal life could really hurt him bad in the general election, especially with the GOP trying to paint themselves as the party with moral & family values.

18. There's a scandal involving the emergency radios used on 9/11.
They were faulty, I believe. Guiliani was at fault. Anyone have a link on this...I heard it somewhere and believe it is true.

23. True, like establishing NYC security headquarters in WTC (after the 1993 attack)
It's fairly easy to demolish his 911 sainthood - except they have the media and they'll override the truth like they did with Bush.

19. 2nd cousin marriage is OK in all 50 states. 1st cousin marriage is OK -
in 21 states including Massachusetts, NY, NJ, Connecticut, California, Rhode Island. First cousin marriage was popular in all states - north and south - in the early years as it kept property in the family. The rules and regs of cousin marriage can be found here: http://www.ncsl.org/programs/cyf/cousins.htm

28. Keep in there is a double standard
for Republicans. Republicans go after Democrats on MoralityFlaws
but these same flaws are overlooked if the base of the Republican
Party is convinced that person can win a GENARAL ELECTION.

It is almost a waste of time to look at Rudy's foibbles. If the
party becomes convinced he can win, all is forgiven, the Media
will overlook it as they bow to Republicans. They will march in
locksmith.

Either go after him before the party becomes convinced he can win
or forget it.
