Beck: Obama is "colorless ... he might as well be white"

On the February 12 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, Glenn Beck featured Philadelphia-based conservative radio host Dom Giordano, who claimed that "the mainstream media has dubbed to be African-American" and said, "If you start to, you know, delve around the edges, say, 'Wait a minute, isn't he mixed race? Weren't we told that last year?' Or whatever, biracial. Not allowed to say that anymore." Beck responded by saying "he's very white in many ways," adding, "Gee, can I even say that? Can I even say that without somebody else starting a campaign saying, 'What does he mean, "He's very white?" ' He is. He's very white."

just cracks me up. All I have to say to them, especially people from the black community saying so, is show a picture of him to some asshole driving a pick-up truck with a confederate flag on it (and this could be anywhere, even here in MI, so that's not a south-bash) and ask "what color is this person?"

He's black already! Sheesh!

It's like certain whites can't accept there's a black political figure with sky-high popularity. As to the African-Americans doing the same routine, it's hard to comprehend.

then he embraced his oppressed black man roots REAL fast. But speaking of Simpson, there's a story that he showed up at a party with two friends, and someone said, "Look! There's OJ Simpson and a couple of n*******s!"

And here's a scene from an Eddie Murphy movie: he bursts into a redneck bar and starts trash talking. He's asked, "Who the hell are you?" and he replies, "I'm your worst nightmare--a black man with a badge!"

Obama's white in many ways? What ways? I'm sure it would be very useful to Obama if Beck were to spell out these "ways" for him. More to the point, is being white in many ways bad if you're not white? Would Beck and Giordano feel more comfortable with Obama if he were "more" black--would they consider him to be more "honest"? Most important, could a "real" black candidate get their votes? Or would such genuine-ness provide them with the perfect excuse to reject him?

You aren't fooling anyone, you two. You can admit that Obama is "colorless," but you can't admit that his colorlessness is your REAL problem with him. Like Winfrey, Jordan, and Woods, Obama has what it takes to command white support--and THAT'S your worst nightmare!
