Airlift from Iraq?
The news report that Syria is shutting its border with Iraq

http://ca.today.reuters.com/news/NewsArticle.aspx?type=topNews&storyID=2007-02-13T184650Z_01_L13105214_RTRIDST_0_NEWS-IRAQ-COL.XML

and that some who are already there are afraid of deportation.

The Iraqis seeking refuge in Syria and in Jordan are refugees. They escape the unrelenting violence in their homes. If Syria and Jordan will close their doors, then we need to initiate airlifts.

If these Iraqis do not feet the definition of political refugees, I don't know who does.
