Joint Chiefs Chairman: No Evidence Ties Iranian Govt. to Iraq Weapons
Contradicting the repeated claims of Bush administration officials, Gen. Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said on Monday that he has seen no information linking Iran's government to an effort to supply weapons to Shiite insurgent groups in Iraq. This comes on the heels of this weekend’s PowerPoint presentation from anonymous military officials who specifically alleged that the flow of arms into Iraq is being controlled by the “highest levels” of the Iranian government.
