Bill O'Reilly: Edwards is finished as a candidate
Edited on Wed Feb-14-07 08:12 AM by bigdarryl
He was talking about Edwards on how he handled the blogger situation. My question is what did Edwards do wrong as far as this situation. i think O'Reilly is blowing smoke up his ass.

10. let alone next week
it's Febuary, Karl Rove made a point on Politico the other, some of the candidates may wear out their welcome with such an early start to the campaign.

McCain is sinking like a rock, Guliani is probably peaking too early. Clinton has to stay #1 for two years. Obama has maybe the best chance for an upset but again could peak early and then the public grow weary. Edwards shot out fast, is dropping but may resurge. And then there is the second tier any of which could emerge as top tier when the others where out their welcome.

2. The fact that oreilly & co are complaining about Edwards
means the GOP really really doesn't want Edwards as the candidate.

4. O'Reilly is not the one who decides who is "finished" as a candidate...
Edwards did nothing wrong in this situation, as far as I'm concerned. The blogger's had the right to give their opinions on the blogs and Edwards defended that in the beginning. Now, they have both resigned and that should be the end of it. O'Reilly and Donahue should move on to more important issues and personally I wish they would both resign, for what spews out of their mouths everyday, which in my opinion is nothing but bigotry and hate.

6. The only reasaon any of us listen to him
is to either laugh at his ignorance or to talk about what an idiot he truly is-Edwards is a very real possibility for us for '08-he's my number one choice right now-until hopefully Gore declares anyway

8. Well, he lost my primary vote but not for the reason O'Reilly says
He lost it because rather than taking the opportunity to fight back and point out Donohue and co.'s hypocricy and how the right wing noise machine spoon fed this to the mainstream media, he pulled the whole "I was personally offended" bullcrap.

I'm sorry. I like Edwards. But the last thing I'm going to vote for is another person who is going to approach this crap with a "Well, they do have a point...." or "I'm not going to lower myself to their level" approach.

24. This is one of the reasons why O'Reilly has made Olbermann's worst person in the world
as many times as he has. Having said that, I have to agree with your comment that Edwards should have stood up to Donohue, the same man that said that Hollywood was being run by godless secular Jews.

It was Democratic appeasement of the rightwing that gave us IWR, torture, military tribunals, and the loss of habeas corpus.

13. Damn, see, I think Edwards is finished, but if O'Reilly says it, it must be wrong.
So welcome back, John Edwards.

But I shouldn't insult insult O'Reilly. He's one bad mamajama, from what I hear. Of course, the only person I hear that from is him.

17. Edwards has time to recover...but...he needs to get over the apology
thing that has kept Dems down for so long. He should have brought out the Media Control being a mouth piece for RW Religious Radicals...but probably thought it would sidetrack the issues he wants to talk about.

Bill O'Reilly is dancing on Edwards grave too soon.

The French Economy is history.

Given Bill's track record in prognostication, I'd say that Elizabeth can start picking out the drapes.
