7. It's a simple-minded poll looking for simple solutions.
Unfortunately, solving our Iraq problem isn't so simple. What's more, two out of three choices here lead respondents to the answers Murphy's already leaning towards. The immediate withdrawal choice is the last thing Murphy would ever consider because he would characterize it as the irresponsible decision.

To a degree, Murphy here would be correct. But immediate withdrawal in Murphy's mind is irresponsible only because it would make Bush look bad or he'd spin it as something that doesn't support the troops. The spin is, of course, pure bullshit.

I see immediate withdrawal as irresponsible because we should first evacuate peaceful Iraqis out of the shooting gallery to other Arab League states or to America. Bush wrecked a nation that cannot be put back together the way it was, and the least he can do is help law-abiding Iraqis get a new start on life elsewhere. Our troops should withdraw region by region as we evacuate refugees. The logistics won't be easy, but it can be done. With that said, there are no good solutions to end this failed Republican war of choice. At best, we can only hope to minimize the inevitable loss of life yet to come.

Nuke-'em-'til-they-glow neocons will say a withdrawal is defeatist, but Bush put our country into a no-win situation when he invaded Iraq and occupied it afterward with too few boots on the ground.

Withdraw responsibly.
