Nice speech by Keller (R-FL) opposing the surge
Edited on Wed Feb-14-07 12:41 PM by BeyondGeography
General tone was that he's for a surge in Iraqi accountability to solve their own political problems. Cited the opposition of Gens. Powell, McCaffrey and Abizaid to the surge. It was a speech any Democrat would have been proud to make, apart from the statement that he like and respects *, of course.

Anyway, good to see some serious, non-partisan thinking coming from the other side.

3. As much as I disagree with his philosophy
I've been consistently amazed by Ron Paul's independence and great oratorical skill over the years. A representative who actually dares to speak his mind is a rarity these days. Not to mention that he actually does have some pretty solid populist ideas about a number of economic and foreign policy issues. Too bad he's on the wrong side of the aisle.

5. any kind of thinking from Keller is a nice surprise
well, good for him. He also voted for the ethics bill, to implement the 9/11 commission recommendations and to raise the minimum wage.

That's a welcome change after the way he voted with Tom Delay all the time.
