These are some interesting results, as if we had a blanket primary, with all candidates on a single ballot. It's a WSJ Online Poll so take it for whatever it's worth...

Hillary Clinton Leads Pack
Of '08 Hopefuls, Poll Indicates
THE WALL STREET JOURNAL ONLINE
February 14, 2007

Sen. Hillary Clinton (D., N.Y.) is leading the pack of presidential hopefuls as the campaign for the 2008 election begins, a new poll indicates.

The Harris Interactive poll, which was conducted online Feb. 2-8, among 3,423 adults, shows that 20% of U.S. adults would most likely vote for Ms. Clinton if they had to choose one candidate from a list of those who may run. Ten percent of those surveyed said they would vote for Sen. Barack Obama (D., Ill.) and 8% said they would choose former New York City mayor Rudolph Giuliani.

Take a look at who is in the running for the 2008 presidential election, who's out and who's somewhere in the middle. The poll indicates that for 45% of respondents, their first choice for president would be a Democratic candidate, while 31% would choose a Republican candidate.

<SNIP>

Forty-one percent of Republicans polled indicated they would consider a Democratic leader for president, while 35% of Democrats said they would consider a Republican candidate.

5. He's a strategist. I suspect he's waiting for a vulnerable entry point to appear
It's not like Bosnia where he'd be pounding the opposition from high above. He's got to fight a guerilla campaign against half a dozen other guerillas and two and a half 800 pound gorillas simultaneously. Not a favorable combat environment. I'm not sanguine.

8. CNN showed latest poll results
Hillary and Guilliani are out front in each of their
respective parties.

In NY Hillary leads Guilliani by 10points.

In Nationwide Matchup essentially tied. Guilliani only a slight
lead within margin of error.

11. More interesting than the Dem Horserace...
later in the article, it shows that only 58% of those surveyed would even consider one of the Republican candidates and only 31% declared one of the Republican candidates as their "first choice." The Democrats, in general, have nearly 50% advantage in the "first choice" question.

American is clearly sick and tired of Republican leadership. They voted them out of Congress, and they appear to be prepared to do the same with the White House.
